From the way she wears her hair, her no-filter beauty, her ability to stand out, and possessing the good body has Shaí thanking God that she’s in his life. The month of May is recognized as “Haitian Heritage Month“, and we’re sending love to Haiti, and those of Haitian descent on “Oldies Sunday“. Today, we go back in time a lil to check out Recording Artist Misty Jean’s “Kijan Lari A Ye“.

Produced by Jeff Wainwright and released through Melodie Makers, Inc. in 2008, “Kijan Lari A Ye” is a Compas single by Misty Jean that started a party in the streets. The production, the Haitian Creole, and the chanting throughout brought a unique vibe, and encouraged the listener to get in the groove. The single was released during one of the heights of Misty’s popularity, and it enjoyed much success locally, and Internationally. “Kijan Lari A Ye” was featured on Jean’s 3rd album, “Li Pa Two Ta“, which was also a successful release. A Music Video accompanied “Kijan Lari A Ye”, and was shot in Florida at the Plantation High School with Oriol Vatelia handling directorial duties.

Since the release of “Kijan Lari A Ye”, Misty Jean’s popularity grew even more. A star since a child, she earned a legendary status in the music scene, represented Haiti in various ways, got into acting and entrepreneurship, and worked on more music over the years. “Kijan Lari A Ye” is still played today by many around the world.

Dancehall/Pop Artist Shenseea has taken her brand and music to various parts of the world, and the work never stops. Since breaking out in 2016, she has been building her fanbase with hits, and ushered in new movements. Her name soon brought International acclaim, and soon found herself working with many from Tyga, to Masego, to Kanye West. She aims for more with the release of her sophomore album, “Never Gets Late Here“.

Featuring 14 tracks, Shenseea expands her catalogue with “Never Gets Late Here”, and show that her flame has not been outed. While she received mixed reviews for her debut album and criticism for comments made prior to that, she shared that she would return to her Dancehall roots. It’s up to the listener to determine if she’s back in the department with the new project. Production on NGLH include the likes of Rvssian, Di Genius, Gitty Music, Stargate, Supah Mario, Romeich Entertainment, London On Da Track, and Supa Dups, while Masicka, WizKid, Anitta, and Coi Leray show up with contributions to further enhance the listening experience. Produced by Brooklyn Decent, Jimmy October aims for the ladies with “Sweet Love”. The nightlife can be filled with lots of things that tantalize the senses, but when you come across a gem who stands out in the crowd, you’ll want to pursue her. Jimmy found himself in that situation, and while it may have been just a regular night for him, all that changed when he stumbled upon that unique lady who secured a permanent place in his mind, and pursuing her became life-changing. She’s hot, she’s sexy, she’s the one, and we know many of us had that kind of experience before. You know how the badness go. Harlem-based Rapper/Actor Dave East is gearing up for an eventful Summer. With a new project called, “APT 6E” on the horizon, he’s giving the people a taste of what’s to come with a number of singles. One of the singles that will peak the listener’s interest is the track called, “Dangerous Riddum“.

Produced by Mike & Keys, DJ Khalil, AC, and Dan Seeff and featuring Jamaican Music legend Shaggy, Dave East lets the listeners know on “Dangerous Riddum” that the streets can get dangerous, but he is aware of what’s going down at all times. He keeps the peace, but has a piece nearby, and a radar for when the Law is tracking him down. Shaggy steps forward with a few choice words himself, letting you know that he can be the nice guy with the multitude of hits, but if you cross him, it nah go nice. The combination of Dave East and Shaggy may be odd to some, but it works. East previously worked with the likes of Junior Reid and Popcaan, and has always made a connection with his Caribbean side (Barbados and Dominican Republic). A lil bit of melody, some New York and Jamaican badness, and a tune that will be making its rounds leading up to the release of East’s forthcoming project. NPT!
