Inspired By The TikTok Trend, @BusySignal_Turf Releases “#OfCourse”


If you’re a frequent user of Instagram and TikTok, you may have heard the opening line, “I am a _____, of course…“. If you have, then you may have seen your share of content that followed that trend in some from of fashion. It continues to be a popular trend, and it has inspired one Artist to make a song about it, ad his name is Busy Signal. This is a Jamaican Entertainment Blog, of course we’re going to introduce to you new music, like this one called, “#OfCourse“.

Produced by Gorilla Music Source, “#OfCourse” finds Busy Signal adding his few cents to the Social Media trend by incorporating Jamaican culture to it. Throughout the song, Busy shares some of the habits we have as a people, our mannerisms, our likes and dislikes, and a lot more that will have listeners relating to everything said, and wanting to add to it. Busy Signal has been consistent with the music, and he has been securing International collaborations as well. I mean, he’s Busy Signal, of course he’s going to make hits. .@BusySignal_Turf, Bitty Mclean Featured In @Netflix’s “The Kitchen” Film


Jamaican Music continues to make a bigger presence in more of the things we enjoy, and we love it. Recently, Video Streaming giant Netflix released the Sci-Fi drama, “The Kitchen“. The Film stars British Rapper/Actor Kane “Kano” Robinson and Jedaiah Bannerman, and was directed by Kibwe Tavares, and Daniel Kaluuya, known for the Films “Black Panther“, and “Get Out“. The British Film focuses on the characters Izi and Benji (Played by Robinson and Bannerman respectively) as the manoeuvre through a dystopian future London, as residents of the housing project, “The Kitchen”. The Film is filled with great visuals, and a selection of music that range from 80s hits, to Afrobeat, to UK Rap, to familiar Jamaican music that we share with you below.

Music from “The Kitchen” included the Jamaican hits “Stay So” by Dancehall Artist Busy Signal, and a dub version of “Walk Away From Love” from British Reggae Singer, Bitty McLean. “Stay So” was produced by Dameon Gayle for Warriors Musick on the “New Box Riddim“, and released in 2017. “Walk Away From Love” is a cover of US Singer David Ruffin’s 1975 hit, and featured production from the era of Duke Reid productions on his Treasure Isle label. Both the dub and single versions of “Walk Away” are featured on McLean’s 2004 album, “On Bond Street KGN. JA.“. Both songs have made significant marks in the careers of the respective Artists, and adds to the ever-stirring pot of cultures that Immigrants have shared with the British scene as highlighted in the Film. “The Kitchen” has already gained favourable reviews online, and is a top 10 Film on Netflix. Beenie Man is a King of Dancehall. Love him or hate him, he is the greatest Dancehall Entertainer, and he has plenty moments at stage shows, and attendees to vouch for that. With over 40 years in music, it’s still crazy that a former child star not named Michael Jackson has made his name transcend generations. In 2021, Beenie shared that he would release a new album. After a few delays, he has finally liberated “Simma“.

“Simma” features 20 tracks, and it finds Beenie Man still holding his own in Dancehall Music. Never one to stay boxed in, he tries out a few different styles for this album. Whether your taste is the traditional Dancehall/Reggae, or even the new wave of NY and UK Drill, Beenie has something for everyone. Production on “Simma” include the likes of Suku, Dutty Rock Productions, Walshy Fire, The FaNaTiX, Frankie Music, Tony Kelly, and Teddy Riley. Beenie shares the album with a number of friends including Giggs, Popcaan, PatoranKing, Busy Signal, Ms. Banks, Sean Paul, StoneBwoy, Mÿa, and more. Are there any Bike lovers here? What is your favourite Bike? How about a Yeng Yeng Bike? Since the emergence of the Yeng Yeng Bike on Jamaican roads, it has been a great convenience for some, and a great annoyance for others. Jobs have been created thanks to them, while others use them for wrongdoing. Dancehall Artist Busy Signal shares his annoyances and gives a warning in the video for “Yeng Yeng“.

Shot in Kingston, we see Busy Signal having a not so great time with a few Yeng Yeng riders in the video. Paranoia hits while he’s driving among them, and he shares that it can be a pain to hear them. We also see the evils some of the riders do to common folk, and they share their spoils among each other in the end. Busy Signal delivers as usual on the track, and video helps to bring more Yeng Yeng Bikes to more screens, either making viewers heed to more warning, or fueling their interest in acquiring one. For 3 decades, Dancehall Artist Bounty Killa has built his career from being a Lyricist, to one of Dancehall’s living legends. Bounty has built careers, killed careers, and laid foundations for the future generations to be inspired by. He is controversial, militant, but mostly celebrated. Today, we see that he’s not out of the game as he is preparing for the release of his biggest album yet, “King Of Kingston“. Before we get to experience that, he unleashes a much anticipated single called, “Dats Gadzilla“.

Produced by EscoDaShocker and Yo Christon, “Dats Gadzilla” is a much anticipated single from Bounty Killa featuring Vybz Kartel and Busy Signal. The Artists do damage on this track, showcasing that despite their many years in music, they are as sharp as ever, and can create songs that will surely connect with the world. Talk about a family reunion as Bounty reconnects with his musical sons to create a track that will be catching fire in no time. Bounty Killa had a highly publicized feud with Vybz Kartel for years and Busy had words with Kartel, but they have all patched things up since.
