When it comes to fashion and being the center of attention, Recording Artist Popeye Caution and Recording Artist/Producer/Audio Engineer Felva know a thing or few about those. The Jamaican and Latin American Artists respectively have made noise with their various releases over the years, and are now joining forces for a new project. They look to take over the nightlife with their new single, “Starboy Hot“.

With Felva on the boards and Popeye Caution handling the vocals, “Starboy Hot” is the vibe for the person who commands attention, and is the reason why the vibes just intensified to a new level. It’s all about the Women, the Jewelry, and the high fashion on the new track, and it’s the follow up their previous effort called “Asi Lo Hacemos” that has been doing well in the streets. A music video is said to be in the works for “Starboy Hot”, and we can expect more from their collaborative EP called, “Starboy“, which will be released in the coming weeks. Ready to party?

UK Artist Nao is back on the scene, and is ready to give the people great music. She scored a number of hits over the years including “Another Lifetime“, and she looks secure even more with the help of upcoming releases. She taps into her Caribbean background for her new single, “Balance“.

Featuring Dancehall Artist Skillibeng, Nao gives us a high energy track about feelings and connecting with the right energy that will really have you dancing. Nao steps out boldly on this one, and Skillibeng comes through with some witty lines, and an attitude that will have the ladies reaching out. You can say she was chill with her delivery while Skillibeng brought the heat! The video was shot in Jamaica, and features a few Dancers that make us want to join in on the fun.  Nao is gearing up to release her best work since 2021’s “And Then Life Was Beautiful“. She promises to give listeners another side to her, and the sounds will have you keeping her on repeat. Skilli chalks up another big International collaboration. “Balance” was produced by Omega, Stint, and Nao, and released through Little Tokyo.

Closing off the month of July on Oldies Sunday, and we’re celebrating Summer! For today’s selection, we go back to a time before Social Media, when “Peanut” cellphones were the rage, and the Riddims became instant hits. We go back to the early 2000s with Danny English and Egg Nogg’s “Party Time“.

Produced by “Lenky” Marsden on the “Diwali Riddim” and released through the 40/40 Label in 2002, “Party Time” was about having a good time with good people. Danny English’s raspy delivery paired with Egg Nogg’s melodic flow paired well together, and over the classic instrumental, the song quickly became a hit locally and Internationally. The “Diwali Riddim” already had hits from other Artists, and this track was just icing on the cake.

Since the release of “Party Time”, Danny English and Egg Nogg continued to secure their presence in Dancehall with more music releases. Though they didn’t repeat the success of their hit, they remained active over the years. “Party Time” is a classic, and continues to cause a scene everywhere it’s played.

Jquan Perseveres On “Still A Fight”

Life is filled with many challenges and setbacks, how they’re dealt with are dependent on the individual. We can’t predict how the day will turn out, but making it out is the goal. Dancehall Artist Jquan tries to navigate life in his own way on “Still A Fight“.

In a Saii Media-directed clip, Jquan shares some of his challenges and experiences. Over the Steel Chest/DJ Mac production, he uses his vices to stay above the madness, and he keeps pushing on. He finds his escape through a doorway in the video, further highlighting his need to be away from the world, and we can relate to that as we have our own challenges. “Still A Fight” will resonate with many listeners, and we hope they find their peace. “Still A Fight” was released through Rockit Muzik.

Recording Artist Wayne J has a different perspective on life. The former child star created a wave for a number of years thanks to catchy singles, but his upbringing brought on a different way of life for him. He shares a few words in the video for the new track, “Pain“.

Directed by St. Errol, Wayne J lets listeners in on his experiences and state of mind as a young man growing up in the Ghetto, and dealing with those who do all manner of things in attempts to undermine him while he seeks success. When people think life is easier there, he gives you his perspective, and what he has to go through there. This is the reality for many, and Wayne is just using his platform to amplify their experiences over production by Greatest Records/King Tucker Entertainment.

Wayne J looks to stay consistent with the music, and he is currently working on a new project that should see a 2024 release. Check out some of his previous releases including his collaboration with Blvk H3ro here.
