PRESS RELEASE: @DAngelMusic1 Wanted In Africa!

Dancehall artiste D’Angel has been creating quite a stir in Africa with the release of her remix with African Grammy winner and recording artiste Stone Bwoy. The single is called ‘Tingisha’ on the Chaskele Rhythm produced by Rebel Liberation Records. D’Angel shared “since the release of the single, my African fan base has grown tremendously; now I have promoters calling and I am hoping to plan a tour soon”. King Rebel the producer shared that the single is in great demand and it is the “anthem in Nairobi”.

The First Lady who is presently on a North American Tour added that she felt “elated” after several fans reached out to her on social media advising her that the single has been playing on the radio stations in Kenya, Nairobi, Namibia, and Uganda to name a few. She shared “having your fans, selectors and radio personalities reach out to me is amazing; I love all my fans and to know I am doing well abroad is always a great feeling”. D’Angel was recently featured in The Star stated that she was demanding her respect in the music industry. The ‘Stronger’ artiste defended her success and made it clear that she has no intention to slow down. She has since performed on several stages while on tour and has created a long lasting impact on each state she has visited.

Now promoting singles such as ‘Ramp Ruff’, ‘Gimmie Likkle More’ and ‘Whine Factory, D’Angel is eager to return to Jamaica for her promotional runs before leaving again to finish her tour.

PRESS RELEASE: @DAngel_Music Brings Caribbean Heat To North American Fans

The First Lady herself, D’Angel, has been creating waves on her present North American tour. It’s nothing new to us that the ever ‘Blazing’ D’Angel has been creating quite a buzz .She has taken to her stages high energy performances fused with lyrical content and her intriguing style. She recently performed at a Summer Day Rave concert in Philadelphia and Future FM’s One Year Anniversary show in New York City which are only two of the many shows she has lined up. Her other shows include, Tun up Thursdays in Washington, DC and Wifey vs Matey in Florida, just to name a few.

Her US fans have long requested the presence of D’Angel and have been turning out in their numbers to see the First Lady perform. She delivered some of her latest singles such as ‘Ramp Ruff’, ‘Gimmi Likkle More’ and ‘Come Get It’ but her older singles such as ‘Stronger’ and ‘Hot Gyal a Road’ had the female fans singing along. D’Angel who has performed on many major stages in Jamaica including Reggae Sumfest and Sting, just to name a few, has had many successes over the years. She is especially known for her high energy performances and her ability to command the attention of any crowd. She, has no doubt, brought this skill and energy to her North American shows and her fans love her for it. “This tour has been amazing and I have no problem performing. When I see the reaction of my fans to my performances I become energised and I want to give them more,” shared D’Angel. “I however can’t wait to go back home to Jamaica and share the same experience,” she added. The ‘Hot Gyal a Road’ artiste is expected to return to Jamaica in a couple of weeks for a promotional run along with making appearances on several Jamaican stages before returning to the US to complete her 6 month tour.

Her final show before her return will take her to Elks Lounge, Connecticut on July 11, 2015 for ‘D’Angel Invasion’.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Get To Know @DAngel_Music

The Dancehall Diva D’Angel needs no introduction to many. While she has kept eyes glued to her, and brought the energy in her performances over the years, there are still those who may not know a lot about the artist born Michelle Downer. Get familiar with her below and share your thoughts in the comments section. And so!

1. What are the 5 words that best describe D’Angel?

Happy, Fun loving, Kind hearted, Hardworking, Resilient.

2. Who have been some of your influences musically and otherwise during the development of your career?

I admire (Singer) Diana King for her great musical ability and even more so we are from the same community. I also look up to (Deejay) Lady Saw who has paved the way for me as a female Dancehall Artist. My mom is another who is my tower of strength, and she has been a great supporter throughout my entire career. Finally, my son Marco Dean who is the driving force in my life.

3. What’s the process like for D’Angel when creating music?

When it’s time to get creative, I think about real life issues and write songs that people can relate to worldwide. I don’t just write from my personal issues, I also draw ideas from others who are going through different issues.

4. What’s the Dancehall scene like overseas compared to Jamaica when you’re touring?

When I’m on tour, I’m meeting and performing for people from different ethnic backgrounds. The differences are few but in the end, they mutually love and embrace Reggae and Dancehall music.
