450 Guards His Energy On New Single, “Know Weh Ya Do”!

Emerging Dancehall Recording Artist 450 has been having an outstanding 2022 that saw him crossing off a few milestones in his career, with fans looking forward to what he will embark on next. He started the year with his first International booking, and has been making appearances at various locations locally and Internationally over the past few months to rave reviews. 450 also shared the stage recently with a few prominent Dancehall Artists including Alkaline, Mavado, and the legendary Wayne Wonder at Alkaline’s “New Rules” festival. With the summer approaching fast, 450 is elevating his catalogue further with the release of the single, “Know Weh Ya Do”.

Produced by Week.day of Tru Ambassador Entertainment, 450 shares that he lives a cautious life when it comes to dealing with people. His lyrics speak on him being wary to share his energy with anyone, and for those who are negative in character, they need to stay far from him. He also points out how people can be fleeting and relationships and friendships are not what they used to be, so he encourages listeners to know what they are doing in their everyday networking. 450’s “Know Weh Ya Do” follows up his “2 Face” single, which went viral on Instagram and TikTok earlier this year, his “Gyal Tief” music video which recently surpassed 1 Million views on Youtube, and the “Be Honest” music video, that has quickly gained him more female fans from around the world.

450 looks to make another major move this year as he is set to perform at the world famous Reggae Sumfest in July at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay. Performing on “Main Festival Night 1”, 450 will be joining the likes of Alkaline, Jahshii, Skeng, and many other big names on stage as the event makes a comeback after setbacks due to Covid 19 lockdowns. 450 is still hitting the road to share his music in new locations, and announcements will be made shortly.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Junior Sledge – Be My Bride (1986)

It’s the month of June! For many, it’s considered a Wedding month, as many couples chose this month to jump the broom, get hitched, and make an honest partner out of each other. We’ve highlighted a few Wedding themed songs on Oldies Sunday, and today we give you another. Today’s selection comes from Junior Sledge with the track, “Be My Bride“.

Produced by George “Photographer” Lemon, “Be My Bride” was released in 1986 through the Photographer Label. On the track, Junior Sledge tells the lady in his life that she will be his Wife. He lists some of the many ways he feels about her, and makes the case that she will be his Bridge. Sledge delivers his track with some melodies over a Dancehall production. “Be My Bride” was a part of the “Photographer In a Dancehall” compilation that featured tracks with Admiral Bailey, Carl Meeks, Anthony Red Rose, and others. To the couples looking forward to their Holy Matrimonies this month or later this year, play this at the Wedding, and let us know if you did.

On May 27, the popular Netflix series “Stranger Things” premiered its 4th season. The series finds a group of kids experiencing various supernatural beings and events in 1980s Indiana. The new season was highly anticipated, and has been one of Netflix’s most watched products. While season 4 highlights plenty 80s aesthetic, the soundtrack also highlights some of the hits from that decade. One of the hits however, is a Reggae classic.

In episodes 4 and 6 of “Stranger Things” season 4, British boy band Musical Youth’s 1982 hit, “Pass The Dutchie” was featured. Produced by Peter Collins, this is a song about facing extreme poverty. This song was redone version of the Mighty Diamonds’ hit “Pass The Kutchie. More info on the track can be found here. The single has been been a historic one as it helped with Musical Youth being the first black group to have appeared in a Studio segment on MTV. We previously highlighted the track being featured in a South Park episode.
