If you watched last night’s episode of Jamaica’s Magnum Kings & Queens of Dancehall live show, you witnessed performances from many upcoming Dancehall Artist vying for the opportunity to be a star. While we weren’t going to highlight any of the conflict, we couldn’t help but feature Irish Stu’s animated take on the event. Well that was quick. After leaking the single just a few days ago, Eve premiered the visual treatment to her single “Eve“. Shot in her current residence of London, we see Eve strolling through the streets and dropping her raps to make it clear she’s coming back for her title. While the single features Jamaican Media Personality Miss Kitty, she wasn’t available for the shoot and we can see Eve lip-syncing a bit of Kitty’s part. Very clean video although I expected more than her just strolling through the streets and rapping and I am upset that I had to search really hard to find a video available for Jamaicans to view it. How can you have a song that features a Jamaican but block Jamaicans from seeing it? What you think? Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
On tonight’s episode of Onstage, Winford Williams welcomed Miss Kitty on the set for a short interview. Here Miss Kitty spoke on her recent resignation from RJR, the situations which led to her move, her new job at New York’s Linkup Radio 93.5, and her future ambitions. Cool interview with Miss Kitty being energetic as usual. I’ve always been a fan of her work and no matter what happened at RJR she’ll always have her core fans’ support wherever she goes. For the first time in 10 years Rapper/Actress Eve will be releasing her 4th album “Lip Lock” on May 14. Today she teamed up with Jamaican Media Personality Miss Kitty to release her new single, “Eve“. While the producer is currently unknown, Eve manages to bring back some bark from her “Pitbull in a skirt” days on Ruff Ryders and aims to take back her place as one of the best female rappers to do it. Featuring a crazy sample that was made to say “Eve“, hard hitting drums, and some tough chat from Miss Kitty this is sure to get some replays. What do you think? Is she back to take back her spot from the competition? Check out the single below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Shock value is a hell of a thing, but it’s the norm for upcoming deejay Alkaline. He was recently interviewed on TVJ’s ER by Anthony Miller and answered a few questions. He spoke about his newly tattooed eyes (Sclera Tattoo) and reactions, what he wants to bring to Dancehall music. Short interview but it has many people talking.
