On December 31, 2024, Dancehall Artists Popcaan and Chronic Law joined Vybz Kartel onstage at his highly-anticipated “Freedom Street” Concert, the first live performance for the recently freed Deejay. The Deejays showcased their ability to command the audience, and deliver the music that everyone loved. The historic night wasn’t without some controversy, and both St. Thomas natives were hot topics after the event. With all that behind them now, they release their new collaboration called, “Kick It Wid Myself“.

Produced by DropTop Records, Popcaan and Chronic Law are as cautious as ever in “Kick It Wid Myself”. With the way they have been treated by people over the years, they believe it’s best to ride solo for a while. Greed, envy, and jealousy can consume many, and encourage them to turn on friends and family. The Unruly Boss and the Law Boss stay protected, and they show some unity in the accompanying Music Video. The “Freedom Street” Concert highlighted Artists who not only found influence from Vybz Kartel, but managed to develop their own identity, and skillset. Popcaan and Chronic Law scored the highest marks in their lessons, and have solidified their names in the streets around the globe. Be careful of the bad energy out there.

Dane Ray Releases Debut Album, Premieres “Fully Prayers” With @PopcaanMusic

Dancehall Producer/Recording Artist Dane Ray has built his brand to one that aligns with success. From producing for some of the biggest names out, to recording well-received tracks, to launching a wave of new music stars and movements, to securing award nominations and wins, he’s keeping his focus on the right things. He shared his much-anticipated debut album, “H.Y.M. (Hope Yuh Memba)“, and followed it up with the track, “Fully Prayers“.

“H.Y.M.” is a 12 track project that showcases Dane Ray’s growth as a member of the music fraternity, and making solid connections over the years. The album shares themes of life situations and ambitions for great success, and Dane provides the right sounds to accompany the lyrical contributions. He delivers a project that is sure to find favour with many globally, and encourage further growth of the Jamaican music scene. Dane shares his stage with the likes of Nhance, Areakode, Koffee, SVM, Stefflon Don, Eddy G Bomba, $hen, Shevv Di Goddess, Tommy Lee Sparta, Qwella, Ai Milly, and Popcaan. As a part of the new album’s festivities, we get a Visualizer for the Popcaan-featured track, “Fully Prayers”, that aims to motivate listeners as the Artists speaks on their journey, the challenges faced throughout, and how they handle things. December 31st will be a night for the books and more as Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel will headline his highly-anticipated “Freedom Street” Concert. Since his release from Prison on July 31, fans have been awaiting the day he takes the stage, and deliver his hits for them. The announcement of the Concert came this past August, and updates about the venue, the date, and what to expect have been shared and hinted. Earlier today, the public got a lot more information at the official Press Conference.

Vybz Kartel joined Joe Bogdanovich and “Skatta” Burrell of Downsound Records, and more on stage at Janga’s Sports Bar as valuable updates on “Freedom Street” were shared. For those who were eager to know what the lineup would be like, Kartel shared that his sons Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz, Skillibeng, and Spice are confirmed to share the stage with him. Busta Rhymes, longtime friend and collaborator would make an appearance at the event, and possible appearances by Drake, Popcaan, and fellow Portmore Empire members were mentioned. Updates for more lineup additions would be shared in the coming weeks on Social Media. For those wondering what the “World Boss” would do in terms of performing, he shared that the show would be split into different eras, and songs from his “Black Kartel” days, the “War Angel” era, the “World Boss” times, and his incarcerated time would be performed. As a bonus for Concert goers, Downsound Records will have a “Black Friday” sale on November 29 and 30 that will slash 50% off tickets for those who missed out on the early bird specials.

In addition to the Concert, Vybz Kartel also officially launched his “Str8 Vybz Rum” line. With three variations offered, Vybz will bring fans back to the days of “Street Vybz Rum“, and introduce a new audience to his entrepreneurial side. The Rum is already on shelves at select locations, and he plans to bring it to even more parts of the world in the coming months.

The world is ready for Vybz Kartel, and “Freedom Street” is just the beginning.

It’s a new day for Dancehall Artist Govana, and his moves will take him to levels beyond the ceiling. As one of the formidable lyricists, when he’s not constructing deadly verses, he’s getting the ladies in the mood with some selection from his stash. This time, he’s building on an already solid foundation with his sophomore album, “Legacy“.

Featuring 12 tracks, Govana is making some of his best music on “Legacy”. Following up the 2020 debut album, “Humans And Monsters Are Not The Same“, Govi Govi is not playing around. Whether you get the gyallis, hints of “Deablo“, or the StrikeForce Boss, “Legacy” has you covered for the Govana experience. 2023 was another year in the books for Popcaan. He continues to hold his own as a Dancehall giant, a the 2nd Mayor of St. Thomas, and of course a Minister of Tourism as he has welcomed many of the big names on the Island. He recently concluded his annual UnrulyFest event in St. Thomas, but he had a few more tricks up his sleeve. Closing out 2023 the right way, he delivers a surprise project called, “Best Mood“.

Featuring 15 tracks, Popcaan ensures his fans ring in the new year with some unruly hits on “Best Mood”. The Deejay previously released a couple tracks off the project, and we can expect additional content in support of it come next year. Fivio Foreign, Vory, Vybz Kartel, Shane O, and Chronic Law make an appearance, while the likes of Anju Blaxx, Dre Skull, and Attomatic Records lend their sounds to the project. If you were one of many who missed out on UnrulyFest, hopefully this makes up for some of it. Ending 2023 the unruly way.

For over a decade, Dancehall Artist Masicka has grown from an upcoming Artist, to a young legend in Jamaican music. 2021 saw his career elevate to a new level with the release of his debut album, “438“. The critically-acclaimed project quickly built up anticipation for a follow up, and the Deejay promised to fulfill the request in due time. He announced his signing to the iconic Def Jam Records this past Spring, and went straight to work. Today, the finished work has arrived in the form of the new album, “Generation Of Kings“.

Featuring 17 tracks, Masicka looks to deliver another classic with the release of “Generation Of Kings”. Making his major label debut with Def Jam Records, the “Genahsyde Boss” is ready for the takeover. The Deejay gives us his usual great music for the ladies, the Gangstas, and the yutes here over solid production, but shows the listener that he has matured a lot in his career. Production include the likes of Dunw3ll, Mozeeko, Boi1da, and Fortune. Like his previous album, he brought along a few friends including Spice, Dexta Daps, Lila Ike, Chronic Law, Popcaan, Fave, and Fridayy. The conversation has already started about “G.O.K.” possibly being better than “438”, and while we won’t contribute to that, we encourage you to celebrate another milestone from an Artist dedicated to his craft. 1Syde till the land slide.
