.@Grafh Links Up With @DreIslandMusic On “Something IN The Wind”

This platform has highlighted for a number of years that the Hip Hop culture is very much active in the Caribbean, and it will be for years to come. Whether your taste is in the “Boom Bap” style, or more about the “Trap” vibe, there are many who have contributed recordings that have connected with many locally, and Internationally. Legendary Queens, New York Lyricist Grafh is working on new music, and recently tapped into his Caribbean side for a collaboration called, “Something IN The Wind“.

Produced by DeSpecialist and featuring Reggae/Dancehall Artist Dre Island, Grafh shares some of his observations in his everyday life on “Something IN The Wind”. He still shows that he’s still nice with the wordplay and flow, and Dre Island’s melodic contributions make for a great listen throughout. Grafh has been one of the Lyricists to know since the mid 90s, has inspired many to pick up rapping, and has been aligned to some of the biggest names in Hip Hop. Dre Island was inspired by Hip Hop and Dancehall sounds from his early days, so this collaboration was a good one that should open even more doors.

NEW MUSIC: @LLCoolJ x @Mavado_Gully – The Hustler

Representing two well known areas (Queens, NY and Kingston, Jamaica) but carry the blood of hustlers are Hip Hop legend LL Cool J and Deejay Mavado with a new single. Titled “The Hustler” and produced by Jerry Wonda, both speak on the life of a hustler while Mavado adds his signature sound to a dark Hip Hop production. With over 20 years experience in the game, LL Cool J has played many roles and is preparing to release his new album, “G.O.A.T. 2“. While I like the idea that Mavado has collaborated with a Hip Hop legend, what do you think of the track? Check out the single below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW MUSIC: @IAmCashBilz x @ProdigyMobbDeep – Stranded

Today’s new music is a meeting between two NY boroughs, Brooklyn and Queens. Cash Bilz released his new single “Stranded” and it features Prodigy of the legendary Mobb Deep. Produced by SOUL, the two rappers trade bars about life, getting their minds right and elevating, and being different from these other rappers over a smooth production. Great track here as Cash lands jabs while P throws uppercuts and in the end give you a knockout. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
