Today, we give you our final “Oldies Sunday” selection for 2025. As we venture into 2026, we want to wish our readers/viewers all the best for the new year, and let’s make some good things happen. With that said, today’s entry comes from Baba Dread f.k.a. Zimbabwe Dread with the track, “Ladder Of Progress“.

Produced by Roy Cousins and released through Kingdom Records in 1981, it’s all about making good things happen in life in Baba Dread’s “Ladder Of Progress”. With a toasting/Deejaying style that ruled the scene, Baba provided words of motivation for the listener, with messages of striving when times are rough, having faith in trying times, and moving forward with good intentions. “Ladder Of Progress” was featured on the 1981 album, “Earthman Connection” (which was re-released in 2011 through Tamoki-Wambesi-Dove), Baba’s only album. “Ladder Of Progress” was received well with listeners, and over the years gained love in more parts of the world.

The holidays are over (until New Year’s Day), but the party goes on. Vincentian Dancehall Artist Sita Lyrical (a.k.a. Sita D Lyrical Diva) is all about having fun, getting goals accomplished, and live a great life. One thing for sure, you won’t find her in a corner depressed. She lives it up in the video for the single, “Outside“.

Directed by BMT Visuals, Sita Lyrical hits the road with friends to live some life in the video for, “Outside”. From calling up her friends, to getting hair and nails done, to securing her outfits and more, Sita is ready to be stress free, and have some memorable times. Produced by Massive B, “Outside” has been making its rounds this holiday season, but will serve as a song for 2026 and beyond. It’s Boxing Day and Kwanzaa in parts of the world, but many are focused on “Money” for 2026. For Dancehall Artist Jamal, that’s every day for him, and the more he makes, the better for him. When he doesn’t want to speak in English, he wants to “Talk Money“.

Produced by HMP Music/Josh Skull Records, Jamal has his sights set on riches and more in, “Talk Money”. With the year he has been having, he’s not slowing down his run, and we can expect him to do even more come 2026. As the year comes to an end, the “WYFL Riddim” by DJ Mac has been picking up steam with a number of Artists hopping on it. Whether authorized or not, the Dancehall streets are flooded with fresh recordings. Brooklyn/Trinidad-based Recording Artist Young Devyn wants to join in on the fun with the release of, “Everything Up“.

In a video directed by Jsitez, Young Devyn takes a crack at the “WYFL Riddim” with the release of, “Everything Up”. The Riddim joins a number of DJ Mac releases that enjoyed viral love this year, and Devyn continues to keep her pen sharp as she gears up to release her “Devyn” album in 2026. One thing for sure, if there’s a beat laying around, expect a Young Devyn remix.

Yesterday (Dec. 23), Dancehall Lyricist Skillibeng celebrated his birthday. With a new year here, expect a lot more greatness from the mind of Skilli. 2025 found him in more places, collaborating with high profile acts, and expanding his brand to even more markets. As a part of his birthday celebrations, he shared the video for, “City“.

Produced by Madenka, Skillibeng is all about his prowess, the money, the Women, and the rides in, “City”. With an accompanying visual, he hits the streets, burning rubber thanks to his muscle car, and showcasing that he’s good wherever he goes. He’s a Gold-selling Artist, and we looked forward to calling him a GRAMMY-nominated Artist for 2026, but maybe in 2027.
