Devin Di Dakta has been booked for the newly revamped Reggae Sumfest. The artiste who recently released the collaboration with dancehall’s new naughty girl RR entitled ‘Rev Out Di RR’ is now eager to hit the stage with RR by his side. Both artistes signed to the John John Music Group label have been receiving great reviews for the single and airplay locally and internationally.
RR has collaborated with artistes such as Movado, Sizzla and Bay C to name a few. Additionally, she has been working with several producers on releasing new sizzling dancehall singles for the summer. RR said “I am excited that Devin has invited me to perform with him on Reggae Sumfest. This will be my first time and I am preparing for a mind blowing performance”. Devin added “RR is a growing brand and she is an incredible talent, we have great chemistry on stage”.
Manager for both artistes Shelly-Ann Curran of John John Music Group is also excited about the venture and is satisfied with the progress of both acts. “What we have at John John Music Group is a double dose of passion and talent so we believe that they will leave their mark on Reggae Sumfest”.

Usually known for her sultry collaborations and modest style, Renee Reid popularly known as RR (pronounced Double R) has shocked her fans with a new ‘steamy’ video with Devin Di Dakta. The collaboration, ‘Rev Out the RR’, is produced by Christopher Birch for Birchill Music and on the ‘Moscato Riddim’ and has turned many heads resulting in her fans branding RR as ‘The New Naughty Girl in Dancehall’.
The single has been receiving support locally and internationally and has become a notable collaborative effort. Manager for both artistes Shelly-Ann Curran of John John Music Group is also very excited about the success of the single and the newly released video. She shared, “I ampleased with this collaborated effort and I am very happy to have signed RR to my label. She is a perfect fit. For those who know me well I am very picky when it comes to who I manage but I see a very bright further with her”.
RR is known for major collaborations such as ‘A Dat Yuh Wah’ featuring Sizzla and ‘Crazy in Love Remix’ featuring Mavado. She is now eager to journey further into dancehall; she said “Devin’s style is very hardcore but I bring the sexy side of dancehall and I love it!” When asked about working with Devin Di Dakta she described it as “an easy and memorable task”.

After teasing listeners with the single for months, RR and Mavado finally release the visuals to “Crazy In Love (Remix)“. Directed by RD Studios and shot in Florida, we see scenes of RR and the Gully Gad getting cozy with one another, RR channeling her inner Picasso accompanied by some great shots throughout the video. Her bathtub scene might be a favourite for many, and the scenes where both artists are together could be a part of many girls’ “Relationship Goals” memes. The highly anticipated event Culture Shock Expo and Concert was officially launched and the school promotions are on! Taylor Made Events and PR Management hosted a successful launch for the Culture Shock Expo and Concert slated for October 3, 2015 at Dinthill High School in Linstead, St. Catherine.
The launch was held at Bog Walk High School on Thursday and was attended by several teachers and administrators. The main organizer Talisa Taylor shared “The launch surpassed my expectations. I remember reaching out to quite a few sponsors and they weren’t so receptive at first but now persons are calling to rent booths and participate”. The event will cater to just over 1000 students from partnering schools and will feature several cultural practices of the Indians, Chinese, Africans, and Europeans in the form of an educational expo and concert
In her presentation at the launch, Taylor presented her display highlighting the features of the event including the Cultural Food Village with several cuisines, the Art and Craft Gallery, and the Cultural Fashion Village. She also pointed out to the involvement of Suncity 104.9FM, Hype TV, EPlus TV and entertainment news programme, The Release that are media sponsors for the event.
The guest speaker for the launch Mr. David Reid, the Eastern Regional Manager at JCDC, also delivered an impressive speech highlighting that Jamaican culture impacts other cultures all over the world and that all Jamaicans are trend setters. June Isaac (the wife of the late Gregory Isaacs) was also in attendance; she also highlighted her eagerness for this cultural event for which she pledges the full support of the Gregory Isaacs Foundation.
Opportunity for Young Talents
The event not only seeks to ‘edu-tain’ students but the organizers are also recruiting young talents that have incredible art and craft pieces that they want to showcase. Taylor shared “We believe in showcasing young talent and Jamaica is filled with artistic people so we do have a gallery that is open for artist to showcase their work and possible get sales. The event will also feature a Caribbean Fusion Concert which will feature cultural dances, dub poetry, instrumental performances and guest artistes. These performers include D’Angel, Prodi (formally Prodigal Son), Voicemail, Radijah, Guidance,A-Game, D’Medz, TheOutcome, dub poet group Colas, RR, Marr, Racquel Jones, Ras Extr3me, Aljermaine, Blass, Jah Jah & Asha, A-Shane and Sanity just to name a few.
Culture Shock is slated to begin at 10 am and end 6 pm and will be hosted on the Dinthill High School Grounds in Linstead, St. Catherine on the 3rd of October 2015.

1: Who has influenced you most in the music industry?
RR: My Family and Close friends already stamped in the industry have influenced me most. Aiding me in pursuing my Dream and development as a Rising Female Songstress.
2: How did you come up with the name RR?
RR: It was easy for me as my Christian and Surname initials are RR for “Renee Reid”. A colleague of mine agreed on my Movement called “Regal Recit” Regal- Expressions and Charisma and Recit- Solo Voice.
