Prodi, formally known as Prodigal Son, gospel artist now turned Reggae sensation has released yet another Reggae single. The single entitled ‘Rat Poison’ produced by Yard Movement was released a couple weeks ago and has been creating a lot of buzz. The ‘Circle Small’ artiste has been hard at work since he rebranded himself and has prided himself on making music with positive messages. The song speaks about dishonest people who take from those who work hard for a living. Prodi further explained the significance of the title of the song stating that “Rat Poison is really a metaphor for going out for your money, which is the cheese. If a man tries to take that cheese, you have to set the poison. It’s really about defending your food”.
The single has been receiving a lot of air play on several radio stations across the region and is set to be released on iTunes in just a couple of days. Prodi shared, “Rat Poison is doing well, it is creating a bit of a buzz in Jamaica and Costa Rica but an even bigger buzz in Panama and Prodi is presently planning his European Tour for 2015.
Top Shotta nuh laugh! Detailing the life of a gunman today is Reggae Band, No-maddz with “Shotta“. Directed by Kurt Wright, we see each member arise from slumber and gather their musical weapons to create some great music. The difference here is that their instruments were concealed as if they were firearms. Great visuals here from the Band with some thought provoking lyrics. Speaking his mind today on Dancehall is Atlanta based artist, Dreggae. Titled “Dancehall Dead!” and featured on Yellow Moon Records’ “Wul Dem Again” Riddim, Dreggae speaks on his distaste for some of the content coming out from the genre. Here he lashes out on artists copying one another, unnecessary beefs, artists more about the materialism and “badness”, not focusing on true lyricism and other issues. With the way Dancehall has been going lately, it’s only right that artists like Dreggae step out with something different and break out of the monotony. What do you think? Austrian based entertainer, Miss Str8 has now released the visuals for her highly anticipated video, Ova Me. The video, which features sexy female dancers, was shot at various locations in Vienna. It will be premiered on local TV and cable stations throughout the Caribbean next week.
Miss Str8 is very excited about her sensational new video, “The concept came through well in the video; it’s basically showing what its like when a man has an intensely strong desire for you. I am ecstatic at what my team was able to put together. I was styled by Mystic creations and the finished product looks real hot,” she said.
The video that was shot by talented director, Jami Dread and well-known editor Dwayne Julius features some of the best on the European dance scene, the Nuhbadda We and the Wild Out dance crews. “I believe dancing is a very important expression from music. To get these dancers in the video was a must for me they brought the energy and real dancehall vibes,”she revealed.
Miss Str8 now looks towards her Sting debut. The dancehall deejay is booked to perform at Magnum Sting on December 26that Jamworld. Her hot new release, Ova Me is now available on music video platforms, Vevo and Youtube. The single produced by Tom Hype Productions can be obtained on iTunes.
