NBC’s The Voice saw the return of last season’s winner, Tessanne Chin. Delivering her new single, “Everything Reminds Me Of You” and produced by SupaDups, Tessanne kept her audience glued to their TV sets and gave them the voice that overcame her competition last season. Dropping some conscious music today is the combination of Kabaka Pyramid and I-Wayne. Titled “Versatile” and produced by Rokwon Productions on the Rokwon Drop Riddim, we hear the artists speak on the evil that many do, promoting righteousness, fighting the corrupt, going against artists who promote the wrong things, Tessanne Chin and her getting recognition, and advising the youths to be versatile as to avoid falling into the traps of Babylon and Rome. A great effort here as I’ve been anticipating a collaboration between the two. It could a long shot but I’d love to hear a EP from the two or at least more tracks from them this year. Tonight the White House and the world will be treated to performances from their “In Performance At The White House” series. Hosted by the First Lady Michelle Obama, the lineup features Patti LaBelle, Ariana Grande, Janelle Monae, Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott, Melissa Etheridge and Jamaica’s own Tessanne Chin. The event is a celebration of the great “foremothers” of American music, with songs expressing the struggles and achievements of women. Today’s new music comes from the dynamic duo of Twin of Twins. Titled “Tessanne“, the twins revisit the sound bite from Tessanne Chin on The Voice where she highlighted that Jamaica has the worst roads. With this in mind, the twins asks Tessanne to address all the other problems that country is facing. With her new star power already affecting the country (the budget for new roads was found just hours after her comment was made), it wouldn’t hurt if Tessanne heard this and did her thing.
