Dancehall Artist Vanessa Bling had the Jamaican music scene in a chokehold with her singles over the years. While she may not be as prominent locally as before, she is doing damage overseas thanks her live performances. She aims to flood the streets with new music, but before that, she wants to make statements. Recently, she made the big step with the release of the “Truly Gifted Riddim“.
Released through Vanessa Bling’s VB Records, the “Truly Gifted Riddim” boasts an All-Female lineup for a compilation that will have the people talking. Bling dives into the world of Music Production, and calls on Tifa, Pamputtae, D’Angel, Marcy Chin, and Suspense to join her in the new takeover. The ladies brought their A-game on the new Riddim, and they show a unity that’s not always present in the Dancehall scene. With a new Riddim comes promotion, and Bling and company plan to take it on the road with a series of live performances, with dates and locations to be shared in the future. The “Truly Gifted Riddim” looks to take its place as an important production like “Gal Click Riddim“, which was produced by Spice and released in 2013. Let’s see what 2025 has in store for more Female-lead productions.

On last night’s episode of Irie FM’s “The Buzz“, Dancehall artists Vawnessa Bling (Gaza Slim), Seanizzle and Tellah were the featured guests. Hosted by Kshema Francis, first up was Tellah as she spoke about herself and her experiences growing up, her time on the first staging of Magnum Kings & Queens of Dancehall in 2008, her songs “A Mother’s Cry” and “I’m Not My Scars“, releasing her EP at the end of the month and further plans for her career. Seanizzle was next on the show and here he spoke about staying busy, starting his career as a producer first before now balancing his roles as a producer and artist, his single “Wha Dem A Watch Me“, staying grounded, encouraging artist and producers to make good music, hosting a competition for upcoming producers, his hit riddims and more. Next up was Vawnessa Bling and here she spoke about her new single “Mercy On Me” and feedback from it, why going in the direction of Gospel Music, using the “Vawnessa Bling” name in future songs, her new label Vawnessa Bling (VB) Records, her upcoming court case, and future plans. This is a quite a watch so if you need to you can skip a few parts. Check out the videos below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Stepping in another direction today is singer Vawnessa Bling a.k.a. Gaza Slim. Titled “Mercy On Me Lord” and produced by her own VB Records, Vawnessa steps into the Gospel route with this song. She asks the Lord to keep her safe from all transgressions, having faith even when she feels like giving up, going through things and asking for guidance. This is not a bad effort from her as I’ve been following her career for a while and I believe she could flex her creative muscle. I’m actually looking forward to what else Vawnessa has in store.
