Do you remember the “Put it pon youchube” video that featured a popular sound selector named Ricky Trooper? Well today he had some things to discuss on Onstage with Winford Williams. Here he spoke about a video that was broadcasted recently on youtube in an attempt to slander his name and the outcome. He also spoke about not having a problem doing his job even if his show was attended by gays, getting steady gigs in Europe, proclaiming to be one of the best veteran DJs, how losing his US visa affected his career, providing for his family, future projects and his marching band “The Troopers“. As Trooper said the world is changing. Many can allow themselves to open their minds, or they can remain ignorant. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @OnstageTV Interviews Shebada

Shebada

Known for his onstage performances and a shocking personality, KeithShebadaRamsey has become a household name in just a few short years. Very controversial at times and is known as the face of Roots Theatre, he joined Winford Williams on Onstage for an interview. Here he spoke about his start in theatre upon being discovered by ChristopherJohnnyDaley, revealing that he had no formal training,  the origin of his name “Shebada“, being a very charismatic character on and off stage, his near “cult” following, gaining popularity overseas, future projects, his sexuality being questioned, his name being used in Dancehall Music and other topics. Very interesting  interview, he also previewed a clip from his new TV series. While many may not like his personality off stage, he sure is a hit with his many theatrical performances. In today’s music industry many artists can’t just carry home the bread with only the success of hit songs. It’s all about the artist as a brand and so merchandising is the next step. On Onstage Konshens has a brief chat with Winford Williams about his ventures. Here he spoke about his t shirt line that was done a few years ago, his new shoe line Konz876 along with setting up an outlet in Jamaica, how much input he has in the line, the growth of his career and wanting to climb to higher heights. I do hope he finds much success with his new venture, the game changer sneakers aren’t bad though. What you think? Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Who is Deewaan? Many would admit they’ve never heard of him before in the Reggae/Dancehall circuit but somehow he has managed to perform at Reggae Sumfest with the legendary Bounty Killa and was behind a few Jamaican projects. On Onstage tonight, Winford Williams had a quick chat with the International recording artist and producer. In the video Deewaan spoke about his beginnings, his involvement in a few Jamaican projects including the Team Jamaica anthem, his love for Reggae/Dancehall music, working with top acts including Lady Gaga and Bounty Killa with the latter resulting in a song called “Running It Wild“, his first onstage performance ever, and his future projects. Very interesting interview and it shows that Reggae/Dancehall music is a global genre and is very influential. Looking forward to more from Deewaan. NEW VIDEO: @Onstagetv Interviews Richie Stephens

Reggae music is a dominating genre the world over. Hailing from Jamaica and with the help of acts including Bob Marley, it touched and inspired all walks of life to the point its byproducts were not limited to coming from the island itself. One of the Jamaica acts to witness its global reach and effects is singer Richie Stephens. Here on Onstage he spoke about his recent tour which was a tremendous success, his collaborations with artists from Portugal to Germany including Gentleman, how Jamaica is missing out on all this attention, how local acts can benefit overseas and many more topics. Reggae is a very strong genre and the Jamaican culture broke every barrier possible. If only “Brand Jamaica” made it possible for the locals to benefit as well. What do you think of the Interview?
