It’s the season for new things. For Recording Artist Protoje, it’s “Album SZN“! With fans speculating when he will drop a new album, and launch another staging of his popular “Lost In Time” Festival, he calmed them a little with the announcement of an album called, “The Art Of Acceptance“, and teased that the Festival will be returning sooner than we think. Kicking things off the right way, we get the first single titled, “At We Feet“.

Produced by Winta James and featuring Damian “Junior Gong” Marley, Protoje sets the tone this Album SZN with, “At We Feet”. The “unofficial Marley brothers” finally unleashed a collaboration that many longed for, with each Artist dropping solid lyrics that will bring the people together around the world. The single is accompanied by a colourful music video directed by SAMO, and we’re treated to great visuals of Jamaica including the Island’s Architecture, the Farming culture, and of course our Sound System culture. That scene where Protoje stands below the “Private Property. No Beach Access” is just a highlight that is very necessary. Gongzilla and King Digg at the controls, will we also get a collab album? One can hope. Chronixx returned from his hiatus last year, and now Protoje makes his return. Stayed tuned!

We all need love, many of us have been hurt, but we have hope that our moment will come where we’re loved and treated right. One can be as delicate as a Flower when love is involved, but when passion draws near, expect intense moments. Mortimer is the latest voice on the “Feel It Riddim”, and he has a lot more in store for the fans in audio and physical form. Reggae Artist Mortimer is gearing up to make the rest of 2024 an amazing time. With a solid catalogue, his music is just getting better as he delves into an artistry that makes him a standout. Recently, he announced the new album, “From Within“, and it promises to be his best release yet. Ahead of the album’s release, he released a number of singles, and now follows up with “Bruises“.

Co-Produced with Winta James for Overstand Entertainment, Mortimer enlists Kabaka Pyramid and Lila Ike to tackle serious issues on “Bruises”. The track speaks on the pain and suffering endured by Black people, the trauma that has been passed down through generations, and calls out those who try to justify the pain that was dished out. The three Artists share their unique voices and verses over some solid production, making the track one that will open door to more discussions about giving the victims their just due. September 20 looks to be a big day, and the anticipation for “From Within” has been growing. New music from a future legend.

War is currently in the air, but there are those who are more focused on things that are important, like their health whether physically, or mentally. Recording Artist Mortimer has experienced plenty in his life, but still standing after all that showcases the strength he possesses. Let him tell you what’s going on in “Not A Day Goes By“.

In a video directed by Pete Beng and conceptualized by Mortimer, “Not A Day Goes By” is the exhibition of a Man who is fighting battles internally, and seeks help from a higher power to overcome it all. From depression, to self-doubt, to heartbreak, to thoughts and attempts of suicide, Mortimer sings for not only many of us who going through these things, but to keep himself above ground in the best way he can. Winta James provides a mellow production to accompany the lyrics, and Protoje’s Camp Habitat is the location for Mortimer’s visual, and safe space. Mental Health is still a growing issue in Jamaica, with many individuals still seeking safe spaces and solutions, we hope there comes a day where we can all be free from these battles.
