Rizk Believes In A “Purpose” Greater Than Himself In New Single

Last year, Recording Artist Rizk had a near death experience. He recently shared on Instagram of the ordeal, and that there is something greater than himself out there. Life is filled with surprises and plot twists, but Rizk believes that there’s more to life than what he’s used to. He speaks about it in the new single, “Purpose“.

Produced by Circa Eleven, Rizk recalls the near-tragic incident, and shares some positive words in “Purpose”. He believes everyone has a purpose, and they will find out theirs soon enough. Many people realize them during life-changing experiences, and they move forward living a life that helps others to recognize what’s important in life. We recently shared a story about fellow Dancehall Artist Kyodi who had a near-death experience at the start of this year, and he has been expressing gratitude ever since. We continue to encourage our readers to please stay safe on the road, no matter what. If you have found your purpose in life, honour it, and make the impossible, possible.

.@Wretch32 Takes Over Masicka’s “Whites” For New Freestyle

You can’t deny it, Masicka’sWhites” was one of the biggest Dancehall songs of 2024. The Dan Sky Records/Attomatic Records-produced track on the “Rooster Riddim” was everywhere, and continues to penetrate the streets. The track was loved by many, including UK Rapper Wretch 32. He loved it so much, that recorded a Freestyle over it.

For a little over a minute, Wretch 32 exits the G-Wagon to share a few bars over the Instrumental of Masicka’s “Whites” single. Tapping in with his Jamaican roots throughout, Wretch lets the people know he’s still a problem with the bars, and his flow is solid. The veteran Hip Hop/Grime Artist has been in the game for almost 20 years, and still has a presence that is respected. Given all the love that “Whites” has gotten, don’t be surprised if more Artists took a crack at the Riddim. Keep the flame burning Wretch 32.

After Near-Fatal Experience, Kyodi Expresses “Gratitude”

At the start of this month, Dancehall Artist Kyodi met in a near-fatal accident on the Spur Tree road in Manchester. He along with passengers received a number of injuries, but no loss of life. The Deejay has been thankful ever since, and he has to show it in one of the best ways that he can. Earlier, he released the video for the new single, “Gratitude“.

Directed by Clipz By Will, Kyodi gives thanks for life, and surviving his near-death experience in Spur Tree in “Gratitude”. Over production by Strategic Records & Entertainment, the Deejay reflects on the incident, gives thanks for everything, shares some solid words for the listeners, and appreciates that he and his friends survived the ordeal. Jamaica has ranked high in road fatalities over the years, and there have been many campaigns for safer driving. The Spur Tree road, which includes the Spur Tree Hill, has been red area for accidents for years, and there yet to be a safer alternative for travel. We urge more people to be wary of that road regardless of the Vehicle used, and we look forward to developments for a better route.

Badda General Weighs In On The “King Of Dancehall” Topic In “The Debate”

Who is the King of Dancehall? Some say Bounty, some say Beenie, some say Kartel, some say Alka, some say Masicka. With plenty of names being thrown in the hat whenever conversations start, there is always division. Recently, the topic got hot when Vybz Kartel was given the title, but fellow Dancehall Artist Beenie Man opposed, and shared a few words about it. Dancehall Artist/Producer Badda General decided to step in, and discuss the new controversy in the single, “The Debate“.

Released through Real Squad Records, Badda General weighs in on the “King of Dancehall” topic in “The Debate”. While there are a number of names being called aside from Vybz Kartel, Badda shares that at the end of the day, no matter what awards, sales, and streams say, the streets make the overall decision on who qualifies for the Dancehall throne. He mentioned former GRAMMY winners Sean Paul, Shabba Ranks, Buju Banton, and Shaggy, who have made great contributions to uplifting the culture, but he also gave a short History lesson on past Artists who helped to shape Dancehall, and are a part of the G.O.A.T. list like U-Roy and Yellowman. There will be Kings, and everyone has their time, but the debates will never end. Who is YOUR King of Dancehall?

OLDIES SUNDAY: Jahmali – El Shaddai (1997)

2025 has started off with a number of incidents, and hopefully they aren’t indications of what to expect for the rest of the year. When it comes to music, we just have to deliver content where one can find some peace and order for a few moments. Today’s “Oldies Sunday” selection comes from Reggae Artist Jahmali, and we highlight his single, “El Shaddai“.

Produced by Donovan Germain and released through Penthouse Records in 1997, Jahmali provides a song of rejoicing in, “El Shaddai”. The title means “God Almighty“, and the song encourages listeners to find peace in God every time. The song speaks on what’s going on in the world, and aims to be a guide for those who need a center, and a push into the right direction to fulfill their destinies. “El Shaddai” quickly became a hit for Jahmali, and spread throughout the world. The song was featured on the 1998 album of the same name, and became Jahmali’s biggest hit. The song was sampled in 2015 by Reggae Artist Exco Levi, and featured Jahmali as well.

Since the release of “El Shaddai”, Jahmali went on to release more music over the years. He is still active in Reggae, and many still remember his hit single.

Thank You Jahmali For This Classic!

Wasp Makes You Ponder With New “What If” Single

For over 40 years, Dancehall has produced a large number of Artists, who have emerged with new sounds, styles, and created lifelong memories. For some, it was a stroke of luck that gave them their break, while others strategized their way into fame. Dancehall Artist Wasp, who has commanded the scene with some of his above average lyrics and flows, looks to pick the brains of his listeners with the new single, “What If“.

Produced by Double Trackz Productions, Wasp finds himself asking questions that some of us may have asked ourselves in, “What If”. What if Bounty Killa didn’t give Vybz Kartel and Mavado the big break? What if Beenie Man and D’Angel never got married? What if Shenseea and Spice had different complexions, how would their careers suffice now? What if your favourite Artist never got that big break? Wasp takes it to the Newsroom in a video directed by Gameface, and by the end, you will be pondering on these questions. We can only dream now, but what if we could’ve changed the ballgame for a little bit? Tune in to this one.
