Earlier this year, Dancehall Artist Govana released his sophomore album, “Legacy“. The project was well received for its content and themes, and many have shared it should be one of the year’s best releases. Govana has shared some important thoughts on the project including his life when it’s all said and done. On “My Will“, he thinks about the future.

In a Djuvii-directed Visualizer, Govana speaks on leaving a legacy on “My Will”. He thinks about what he will be leaving behind when he passes on, and urges that the people he leaves behind take care of his legacy, carry on his name in a positive way, let there be no fights and quarrels over what he worked hard to achieve and pass on. Govana is seen connecting with nature in the clip, and he channels his important message over production by Crash Dummy. A legacy is important to many, and it’s all about laying the right foundation now to ensure that everyone that’s involved does right with all that you’ve worked for. “Legacy” is out now.

This Friday’s looking like it’s a day for lovers, as there have been a number of selections that promote couples enjoying some quality time. Recording Artist Lila Ike is next up with some new music, and you’re gonna be in for a treat. Earlier, she premiered the visual for the new single, “Fry Plantain“.

Directed by DJuvii, Lila Ike links up with Rapper/Actor Joey BadA$$ on “Fry Plantain”. The visual promotes that bond couples have, and throughout we see the onscreen lovers connect in a number of ways from breakfast at the Cottage, to hitting the road, to calling it an evening and night at the River and beach respectively. Produced by Protoje and D.K. the Punisher, “Fry Plantain” is a single that finds the Artists flirting throughout, painting the pictures of creating love bonds, capturing moments together, spending quality time together, and making the right moves for their future. BadA$$ previously made an appearance in Lila and Recording Artist H.E.R.’s video for their “He Loves Us Both” collab as their love interest, and we jokingly say Lila won him over here. Another big collaboration, and another love song to add to your collection.

Zion Marley Rules His Destiny In “Best Of Me”

The Marley brand is one that transcends generations and genres. The Marley family is an organization that has tapped into various markets with much success. The new generation of Marleys, namely the grandchildren of Bob Marley, are busy branching out. From Zuri, to Skip, to YG, to King Cruff, to Mystic, there is a new wave of sounds that is making moves in various scenes. Enter Zion Marley, the latest name to emerge with music. The son of Rohan Marley and Ms. Lauryn Hill has a message to share, and it’s called, “Best Of Me“.

Released through Zion Marley Music, “Best Of Me” finds Zion Marley finding peace in the midst of turmoil, loving his enemies while acknowledging being betrayed by friends, keeping his head above the madness, knowing his worth and faith, and showing gratitude to the higher power. The track is expected to make an impact in the coming days, as the song promotes some of the same messages that his Mother, Grandfather, and other relatives have presented in their own music. The song is accompanied by a Music Video directed by Djuvii in Jamaica, and by Gabriel Twardowski in Brazil, and viewers can feel some of that peace that Zion channels through his music. The latest Marley to release music is next up to major stardom, and we will be hearing more from him in the future. Guard your heart in these crazy times.

Jamaican Author Marlon James, the mind behind the multi-award-winning “A Brief History of Seven Killings” book among several other literary works, is ready to take his creativity to new arenas as he gets into Filmmaking. In December 2021, he announced that he will be writing and executive producing a TV series called, “Get Millie Black“, that was focused on Jamaica and the UK. After all the writing, the casting, the shooting, and the post production, the series will be aired on HBO in the US, and on Channel 4 in the UK come November!

“Get Millie Black” stars Tamara Lawrance, Joe Dempsie, Gershwyn Eustache Jnr, and Chyna McQueen, the series focuses on Jamaican-born Detective Millie-Jean Black as she is exiled out of Scotland Yard, taking up a role in the Jamaican Police Force. Along with Curtis (played by Dempsie), she investigates missing person cases, but one particular case stands out, and her pursuit to solve it looks to take a huge impact on her life. The series was shot in Jamaica and parts of London in 2022, and aims to give the world even more coverage of content that has a focus on Jamaica. Former Dancehall Artist Lady Patra will guest star in the series, and a number of Jamaicans participated in the making of the series including popular Video Director Djuvane “DJuvii” Armstrong, and prominent Director Tanya Hamilton, who has at the helm of the entire series. For those who need a new TV show fix, stay tuned as “Get Millie Black” is set to go live on November 25 on HBO, HBO Max, and Channel 4.

Armanii Shares New Single, “You & I”

Dancehall Artist Armanii has been having an Interesting year. When he wasn’t going viral on TikTok, he was doing numbers with his music, and getting his name out to more people. He was recently dealing with some health problems, and but has since bounced back ready to make big moves. This time around, he’s looking to secure another hit for the rest of the year with, “You & I“.

Produced by Kulcha, Armanii’s “You & I” looks to be a hit with the couples. With lyrics geared towards getting close to his Woman, we can expect the track to enjoy live on Social Media through a series of videos. Production taps into some Drill Music vibes, and aims to keep the listener focused throughout. Accompanying it is a Visualizer directed by DJuvii featuring Recording Artist Sp!da and with Armanii they’re doing everything from making videos, grocery shopping, traveling, and chilling by the seashore together. The video will be a hit with the fans, and look forward to how the track will do for the rest of the year.

Dancehall Artist Kraff continues to keep the Studio busy with new recordings, and his growing fanbase happy with new releases. The Artist is not letting his foot off the gas anytime soon, and is on a mission to take his name to more places. Still on the grind like a Choppa with lead sheets, he releases the video for the track, “RISK“.

Directed by DJuvii/Now Or Never, Kraff finds himself in a forest in the video for “RISK”. Being one with nature, the Deejay links with a young lady who helps him with his focus, with a scene taking inspiration from the “Blue/Red Pill” scene from “The Matrix“. “RISK” was produced by Carterr/Dynasty Global/Tepa Music, and will be featured on his upcoming project. The “1 Buduchop” boss will be taking over more stages in the coming weeks, so if you’re in the vicinity, show up and support.
