Mixtape Movements: @DreggaeMusic – Introducing Dreggae

Dreggae

Fresh out of the time machine today is Dancehall artist, Dreggae with a new project. “Introducing Dreggae” is a 5 track set of songs where he pays tribute to the foundation Jamaican producers and artists. Here he flows effortlessly over old school riddims, and doesn’t devalue them with repetitive subject matter. Something the old heads can respect, and the youth will keep in rotation while researching Dancehall/Reggae music. Rock and easy skank to the project below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW MUSIC: @DreggaeMusic – Dancehall Dead!

Speaking his mind today on Dancehall is Atlanta based artist, Dreggae. Titled “Dancehall Dead!” and featured on Yellow Moon Records’ “Wul Dem Again” Riddim, Dreggae speaks on his distaste for some of the content coming out from the genre. Here he lashes out on artists copying one another, unnecessary beefs,  artists more about the materialism and “badness”, not focusing on true lyricism and other issues. With the way Dancehall has been going lately, it’s only right that artists like Dreggae step out with something different and break out of the monotony. What do you think? Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @DreggaeMusic x @AnnieInTheWater – It’s Not Over (Acoustic)

DreggaeIt’s been a minute since we’ve gotten new material from Dreggae but today he makes up for lost time. In collaboration with NY based band Annie In The Water. Remixing his “It’s Not Over” track and giving it an acoustic feel with AITW’s Brad Hester and shot by Duane G. of MQ Productions in Little 5 Points in Atlanta, we’re treated to a street performance where Brad plays the tunes and delivers the chorus while Dreggae delivers his lyrics for the people to hear. Love this visual, the location is colourful and the song was well delivered. The only thing missing was a guitar case open for change (haha!). What do you think of the video? Check it out below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW MUSIC: @DreggaeMusic – One Burner

DMToday Dreggae dropped another addition to his “NewMusicTuesday” series. Titled “One Burner” and produced by DJ Karim, we hear Dreggae letting his lady know that no matter what’s going on he’ll always be there for her and give her 100%. Many men wouldn’t profess to being a “One Burner” (sticking to one partner) but maybe we may hear more like this in the future. Great effort by Dreggae and DJ Karim. Check out the song below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
