When it comes to traveling in Jamaica, you can take public transportation, or get something private. Most residents go for public transportation in the form of taxis and buses for various reasons, and the atmosphere there is enough for many comedy and drama productions. From hilarious interactions, to hearing colourful language, the life of a public transport operator is one filled with hustle and determination. If you haven’t been driven by a Jamaican Taxi Man, Dancehall Artists Top Banks and XKappe give you an idea in, “Taxi Man“.

Released through Steel Chest Records/Bigz Milli Records/White Life Records, Top Banks and XKappe take over Jidenna’s “Classic Man” Instrumental to share the day to day runnings of a “Taxi Man”. The everyday hustle to get passengers is no easy feat, but when done right, it is rewarding to earn that honest bread. This isn’t without any funny moments and drama, and the Deejays deliver a track that takes our minds off of the daily stress. Banks and XKappe always make for a great collaboration, and “Taxi Man” is bound to be another favourite. The Mandeville-based Artists continue to expand their bases, with Banks looking to take his talents to Canada this month for a number of events. Yaksta Declares “The Microphone Saved Me” With New Album

Recording Artist Yaksta is a living example of perseverance. Having started his career from humble beginnings in the 2010s, he has been making every year better than the previous one. The late 2010s/early 2020s gave him a number of high profile moments, and he has not slowed down. The past few months found him in some controversy, but he always had the music to focus on. With a new album ready for the world, he’s defending creativity, and ensuring that his lane fosters more success. He steps out with, “The Microphone Saved Me“.

Featuring 11 tracks on the digital version while physical copies boast 12-15 tracks on his official website, Yaksta is unapologetically himself with the album, “The Microphone Saved Me”. The title is a testament as life could have been very different had he not chosen to put his lyrics over production. His lyrics are raw and direct as they dabble into topics from relationships, to everyday life, to his societal observsations, and if you have heard the previously-released album cuts, he doesn’t hold back. Production on “TMSM” includes the likes of Track Starr, Princeton Brown, Kingsway Music Group, David Luckain, Kabaka Pyramid, and Troyton Rami, while Silk Boss, Lone Don, and Dre Tegs make up for guest features. The work never stopped for Yaksta, he just focused on becoming better. Thankful for that Microphone.

Nigy Boy & @WhoIsKaylan Bring Smooth Sounds In “We Belong Together”

It’s a new week, and you can start it with love. What better way to usher in the love than to release new music? Nigy Boy is here to make even more happen this year, and is working on taking over the summer. He’s in a loving mood, and he released the new single, “We Belong Together“.

Produced by Silly Walks Disco on the “Double Trouble Riddim” and featuring US-based Recording Artist Kaylan Arnold, Nigy Boy is all about that love that is as important as air and water in, “We Belong Together”. The Singers are great with words, but when it comes to that special person, they get tongue-tied, and are overwhelmed with the love that is present. The easy-going track finds the duo at some of their best, and for the couples building and maintaining their love, this track is the right choice. They come together for a fun visual directed by Mirko Polo, and we look forward to them performing this live in the future. Silly Walks knocked it out the park with this one.
