PRESS RELEASE: Kapri Pleased With Double Releases

Dancehall Artiste Kapri is on a musical high with the recent release of his two singles “Dark Glass” and “Anything” on the Jah Snow Cone Record label. The two songs continue to grow in popularity, further cementing the Dancehall Artiste as a force to be reckoned with in the musical fraternity.

Kapri has carved out a respectable underground following with the song “Dark Glass”. For the street campaign, he has teamed up with Ghetto Bomb in order to capitalize on this market. So far, the song has been a favourite for places like “Uptown Mondays”, “Boasy Tuesdays”, “Bounty Sundays” and many other popular spots. “Anything” on the other hand, is a song for the ladies and has been enjoying regular rotations on local and International Radio stations. The accompanying video, which was filmed under the direction of Jack Nine Films, was released in early February and is currently enjoying heavy play on local and International TV stations.

The deejay believes that these two songs can propel his career to where he wants it to be and his approach in doing a Radio single and a street single is a strategy to tap into these two markets. “I feel like now is the time more than ever because I have all of the right elements in my camp. I have the right Producer, the right motivators, the right team and Ghetto Bomb in the streets”.

“The reception that we get in the streets so far is a good look. So I’m going to continue to do the work, because there are many more things to come. There are no limits to my music. I am bringing back the nostalgic sound, by incorporating that older era with a modern feel”.

With his “Deception EP” around the corner, Recording Artist Khaos drops his highly anticipated video for “One F**k“. Directed by Sean Alaric and shot in Florida, we follow Khaos meeting a young lady at the Gas Station and he proceeds to finesse the digits from her. From there the two get better acquainted at a house party and you know how it goes at one of those events (wink wink nudge nudge). With cameos from Rapper Bruce, Producer Kris Beatz, Comedian Gunnta, and lots of liquor and party patrons. Is Khaos gonna follow up to this story? Stay tuned to find out. Summer is almost here, and that means road trips, parties, and new clothes. Recently, clothing giant H&M unveiled a new commercial launching their “Forever Summer” campaign. Providing the soundtrack was UK Recording Artist Izzy Bizu who covered Jamaican band Inner Circle’s 1993 single, “Sweat“. The single was featured on the band’s 1992 Grammy winning “Bad To The Bone” album and was a number 1 song in many countries including Ireland, Austria, and Germany. “Sweat” was also sampled by Laza Morgan for “One By One“, and Jamie T’s “If You Got The Money“. It’s no secret that Hip Hop Artist Drake is a fan of Jamaica’s music culture. From his choice of slang, to his affiliations, to his hometown being chock full of the Jamaican influence, it’s only right that his “Views” album gets some of the essence. Off the recently released album, Dancehall Artist Mavado is featured on Views’ 2nd track, “9“. “9” features a sample from the Deejay’s 2007 single “Dying” off his “Gangsta For Life” debut album. “Dying” was produced by DASECA Productions and features Serani. It’s not the first time both Artists have crossed paths as Mavado played a role in Drake’s “Find Your Love” video off “Thank Me Later“, and Drake was a guest during Mavado’s set at “Britjam 2011“. “Views” also sampled Beenie Man’s “Tear Off Mi Garment” on an updated version of “Controlla” which was previously leaked with Dancehall Artist Popcaan. “Controlla” also gave writing credits to Jamaican Producer Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor and Supa Dups. “Tear Off Mi Garment” was produced by Patrick Roberts and was released in 1995 on the “Urkle Riddim“. Popcaan’s “Love Yuh Bad” is also sampled on the Rihanna assisted “Too Good” and also includes Supa Dups in the writing credits. The track was produced by Dre Skull and is featured on Popcaan’s debut album, “Where We Come From“. Popcaan is currently affiliated with Drake’s OVO group. “Views” is now available on iTunes.

PRESS RELEASE: “Life Goes On” For TugStar

Recording artiste TugStar is quite happy with the release of his new single “Life Goes On”, a song recorded on the Street Side Records / Reef Ent. Records produced “Sweet Cone Riddim”. The song features International Dancehall Artiste Jahfus based in Vancouver, who has recorded and performed with the likes of Ray J, Ne-yo and more.

“Life Goes On” sums up some of the trials TugStar has been faced with, but also celebrates the triumphs of the Artiste. “This is just an easy flowing anthem for everyone striving for better while facing obstacles, it’s a song that connects with the soul, so I have no doubt it will connect with the people,” TugStar said.

Tugstar sheds some more light as to why this song came at a perfect time. “”Life Goes On” is the perfect song after the passing of my mentor and founder of Reef Entertainment Records, Wayne Douglas. He succumbed to Cancer in January of this year”. TugStar has been performing “Life Goes On” Internationally as a part of his set and has been receiving a tremendous feedback. “This song is a crowd favourite when I perform it, and the people love the energy between me and Jahfus every time the song comes on”.

TugStar has been opening and sharing the stage Internationally with artist such as QQ, Papa Michigan, Serani and more, while recording a host of singles to be released. He is also working on a Mixtape and his debut album. “Music is my escape and performing for the fans keeps me happy no matter what is going on around me so I just stay busy and keep giving the fans the shows and music they want cause “Life Goes On” and the music never stops.
