Reggae Artist Mortimer is gearing up to make the rest of 2024 an amazing time. With a solid catalogue, his music is just getting better as he delves into an artistry that makes him a standout. Recently, he announced the new album, “From Within“, and it promises to be his best release yet. Ahead of the album’s release, he released a number of singles, and now follows up with “Bruises“.

Co-Produced with Winta James for Overstand Entertainment, Mortimer enlists Kabaka Pyramid and Lila Ike to tackle serious issues on “Bruises”. The track speaks on the pain and suffering endured by Black people, the trauma that has been passed down through generations, and calls out those who try to justify the pain that was dished out. The three Artists share their unique voices and verses over some solid production, making the track one that will open door to more discussions about giving the victims their just due. September 20 looks to be a big day, and the anticipation for “From Within” has been growing. New music from a future legend.

Recording Artist Royal Blu promised the public that he’ll be more consistent with the content moving forward, and it looks like he’s staying true to his word. Following up his “Cool” single, he steps out with “Light My Way“.

Produced by G.Wav and The Autos under Easy Star Records and featuring Kabaka Pyramid, Royal Blu shares his journey on the winding road of life in “Light My Way”. He has his share of experiences, and he seeks the guidance of a higher power to illuminate his steps so that he doesn’t falter, and put him back on track when he does. Kabaka steps in with some social commentary, and relies on the light to keep him focused in his daily trods. A lot is going on in the world, and we all need that guidance to keep us on the right path. Accompanying the single is a Music Video directed by Cesar Buelto and G.Wav, and it finds Blu on a journey to his safe haven, with the light of his lantern shining as bright as ever. He later joins Kabaka as they step up to perform their collaboration. Never short of music with a message, let “Light My Way” be a part of your everyday life.

YG Marley Shares Visual For Viral Hit, “Praise Jah In The Moonlight”

2024 is the year of the Marley. Bob Marley’s biopic “One Love” hit Theatres and did numbers, Julian Marley won a GRAMMY, The Marley Brothers announced a tour, Sharon Marley returned to music, and the Grandchildren of Bob Marley including King Cruff and YG Marley released music, and gained global recognition. YG Marley has been doing well for himself, his “Praise Jah In The Moonlight“, despite mixed criticism, has earned him over a billion streams, and has taken him as far the recently-held Coachella to perform it beside his Mother, Miss Lauryn Hill. The song has done a lot, and continues to make waves on Social Media, and YG adds more life to it with the release of the official Music Video.

Directed by Cole Bennett of Lyrical Lemonade, YG Marley brought the energy of the song to Jamaica with the official visual for “Praise Jah In The Moonlight”. YG takes to the streets, where he proceeds to bring light and love to various communities and individuals by offering flowers, and channels his positive energy to others. The visual also finds him surrounded by Singers in a garden (shout out Yanah who has a cameo appearance), as he performs his hit that aims to climb higher in the music scene. The video features appearances by his Marley family, Kabaka Pyramid, Jesse Royal, and Miss Lauryn Hill. Speaking on Miss Hill, we look forward to the remix of “Praise Jah” with her lyrics. In a world that finds many giving up morals and beliefs for fame and “the bag“, Reggae Artist Alborosie is not here for none of that. He is charged up, and ready to deliver the right message with his new single, “Nah Sell Out“.

Featuring GRAMMY-winning Artist Kabaka Pyramid, Alborosie shares on “Nah Sell Out” that the goal is to be successful and earn that money, but not at the cost of his faith and consciousness. He gets militant with Kabaka, and the track should be quick to slap you upside your head if you think you’re going to sell out for material things. The Warrior Films-directed visual finds the Artists chopping it up with their respective companions at the table, and we get flashbacks of them as kids experiencing various things in their community while trying to survive out there. Alborosie has found another hit with this single, and we expect its message to connect with the right people today. “Nah Sell Out” was featured on Alborosie’s latest album, “Destiny“.

Reggae/Dancehall Recording Artist Bugle is set to give the rest of 2022 some of his best work. He has been consistent with the content all year, but this time he’s going for the gold. Last year saw him release the highly acclaimed “Toxicity” album, and he has been following up with content to support the album. Today, he follows it up with the “Toxicity (Deluxe Edition)” album!

Featuring 16 tracks, Bugle eyes even more with the deluxe version of “Toxicity”. Still showing that he’s one of the best to do it, he gives us even more thought-provoking music with strong messages, and even something to get us moving. In preparation for the album’s release, he recently joined AfroDancehall Artist Heph B, and Dancehall Artist Laa Lee for the “Big Boy (Remix)” single. Along with the aforementioned Artists, newcomers joining Bugle on the album is the legendary Marcia Griffiths, Dancehall Artist Ding Dong, and longtime friend and DASECA collaborator Dexta Daps. Previously featured Artists including Bounty Killa, Kabaka Pyramid, Julian Marley, Adeana Myrie, Jesse Royal, and Tony Gold all appear on this follow up project. The legendary Wayne Wonder gets some love on this album, but we’ll let you find out which track he getting the love. If you were a fan of the original version of “Toxicity”, you will more than appreciate the new additions, which make up for a solid release, and a great listen. Bugle has done it again!

FRIENDS ONLY is an LA based creative company founded by Natalie Prospere, and is partners with Mass Appeal Records, the label behind releases from Run The Jewels, Dave East, and its co-founder, Nas. Recently, the company announced a new product called, “Friends Only, Jamaica“. “Friends Only, Jamaica” is on a mission to bridge the gap between local talent in Jamaica, and visiting artists and producers from the U.S. As a part of the mission, a “Friends Only, Jamaica” compilation has been made, with the first single, “Never Be The Same” featuring Kabaka Pyramid, Medisun, Hector “Roots” Lewis, Buddy, and EarthGang released a few days ago. Today, we get to see the official Music Video.

Directed by Nickii Kane and shot in Ocho Rios, we’re given a BTS look at how the track was put together. The video finds the Artists writing and recording their parts over the Dre Day production, and we see some unity and good vibes throughout. Producers Universvl ZincFence and J.L.L., Recording Artist Lucky Daye, and Reggae Artist Chronixx make appearances in the visual, and just by watching we know the recording sessions were a lot of fun. We look forward to the full “Friends Only, Jamaica” compilation when it hits the streets and streams in 2022.
