We Pay Tribute To The Late Junior Byles With Our Latest Playlist

On May 15, 2025, we learned that Roots Reggae Artist Kenneth Byles, more popularly known as Junior Byles, made his transition to the big Sound Stage in the Afterlife. The Singer gave the world a number of great songs, but was not able to maintain his career due to his declining Mental Health over the years. While there were glimmers of hope and times where he given help, they were all short-lived as other issues developed. Today, we remember his greatness with our latest Playlist, “Sampling Junior Byles“.

For over two hours, you can tune in to some of Junior Byles’ hits being sampled and covered in the “Sampling Junior Byles” Playlist. His classic “Fade Away” single is featured, along with contributions from the likes of Kabaka Pyramid, Little John, Rodney P, Sizzla, Cocoa Tea, Rebel MC, and more. Byles has inspired and influenced many over the years, and may his situation bring more awareness to Mental Health in Jamaica as it being “Mental Health Awareness Month“. It’s February, and the start of “Reggae Month“. The genre has come a long way, and it continues to grow, and expand to new territories. One Reggae Artist who continues to contribute to its growth is Haile Celestial f.k.a. 5 Star Celestial. Earlier, he shared the visual for the single, “Walking Parable“.

Directed by Aim See Love, Haile Celestial continues to uphold the Rastafarian order on the Kabaka Pyramid-featured “Walking Parable”. Produced by Iotosh, the two Artists trade solid lyrics, elevate their way of life and mindset, and call for the fall of the products of negativity and corruption while highlighting a few locations, and familiar faces including Dr. Kadamawe Knife. Haile continues to share music with strong messages, remains militant with his presence, and build a solid fanbase. Bun down Babylon, dem horrible.

Recording Artist Yaksta celebrated his birthday this week, and with the new year comes new opportunities, and content. Having maintained some consistency this year, his numbers continue to grow, along with his catalogue. A few days ago, he shared the new single, “Pon Di Island“. Earlier, he shared the official music video.

Directed by Xtreme Arts, Yaksta gets everyone grooving in “Pon Di Island”. Whether he’s at a street dance with his people, chilling at the beach with a lovely lady, or dancing in the streets with a few Jonkonnu performers, the vibes can’t cease with the “Bush Lawd“. “Pon Di Island” was produced by Kabaka Pyramid, and released through Bebble Rock Music. Fans of Yaksta can look forward to him performing in a town near you in the coming days, and he is still putting in work on his sophomore album, which is set to be released in 2025. Mortimer Finally Delivers His Debut Album, “From Within”

Recording Artist Mortimer has made great moves in his career, and outside the studio. As a Creative, he takes his time with his craft, and makes songs that the world sings with joy. The hits are there, and his place in music is one to be respected. He has checked off a few milestones, but this one is extra special. Today, he presents his debut album, “From Within”.

Reggae Artist Mackeehan has been one who has delivered music with powerful messages over the years, and he is still making it his mission. Earlier, he released the new EP, “Pieces“.

Featuring 6 tracks, Mackeehan looks to connect with more people with his new “Pieces” EP. The new EP is a follow up to the 2023 “Notes Of Passion” EP, and he aims to make the project something that becomes a mainstay until his upcoming album. Reggae Artist Mortimer is gearing up to make the rest of 2024 an amazing time. With a solid catalogue, his music is just getting better as he delves into an artistry that makes him a standout. Recently, he announced the new album, “From Within“, and it promises to be his best release yet. Ahead of the album’s release, he released a number of singles, and now follows up with “Bruises“.

Co-Produced with Winta James for Overstand Entertainment, Mortimer enlists Kabaka Pyramid and Lila Ike to tackle serious issues on “Bruises”. The track speaks on the pain and suffering endured by Black people, the trauma that has been passed down through generations, and calls out those who try to justify the pain that was dished out. The three Artists share their unique voices and verses over some solid production, making the track one that will open door to more discussions about giving the victims their just due. September 20 looks to be a big day, and the anticipation for “From Within” has been growing. New music from a future legend.
