They also share some of their observations of what’s going on in the world as many take different paths to acquire success, and do all manner of negative things that put them in unfortunate situations. This Friday’s looking like it’s a day for lovers, as there have been a number of selections that promote couples enjoying some quality time. Recording Artist Lila Ike is next up with some new music, and you’re gonna be in for a treat. Earlier, she premiered the visual for the new single, “Fry Plantain“.

Directed by DJuvii, Lila Ike links up with Rapper/Actor Joey BadA$$ on “Fry Plantain”. The visual promotes that bond couples have, and throughout we see the onscreen lovers connect in a number of ways from breakfast at the Cottage, to hitting the road, to calling it an evening and night at the River and beach respectively. Produced by Protoje and D.K. the Punisher, “Fry Plantain” is a single that finds the Artists flirting throughout, painting the pictures of creating love bonds, capturing moments together, spending quality time together, and making the right moves for their future. BadA$$ previously made an appearance in Lila and Recording Artist H.E.R.’s video for their “He Loves Us Both” collab as their love interest, and we jokingly say Lila won him over here. Another big collaboration, and another love song to add to your collection.

Mortimer Finally Delivers His Debut Album, “From Within”

Recording Artist Mortimer has made great moves in his career, and outside the studio. As a Creative, he takes his time with his craft, and makes songs that the world sings with joy. The hits are there, and his place in music is one to be respected. He has checked off a few milestones, but this one is extra special. Today, he presents his debut album, “From Within”.

Consisting of 14 tracks, Mortimer gives us some of his best work yet on his “From Within” debut. From love, to healing our mental wounds, to focusing on what really matters in life, he covers a lot on his debut, and listeners will quickly connect with his selections. The album was released through Overstand Entertainment/Easy Star Records who handled the production throughout, and boasts guest appearances by Kabaka Pyramid, Lila Ike, and Damian “Junior Gong” Marley. It’s that time of year when the yutes are gearing up for their return to the classroom. Many have been prepared with essentials since the early part of Summer, but what about those who haven’t checked off anything off of their lists? Thanks to a number of organizations, celebrities/public figures, and businesspersons, parents have been breathing a sigh of relief through back to school events all over Jamaica. Recording Artist Lila Ike is one of those public figures who always gave back to her community of Christiana in Manchester, and this year was no different with the second staging of her “Back To School Treat” with her “Blessings And Light Foundation“.

Sponsored by a number of corporations including Clarks Shoes, Butterkist, Seprod, Megamart, Mother’s, and fellow Artists and businesspersons, Lila Ike ensured that the kids would go back to school with a few essentials at her Back To School Treat. Held at the Christiana Bus Park on Sunday Sept. 1, attendees were treated to rides, free food, supplies for those still affected by Hurricane Beryl, and school supplies. Lila made it her mission to give back to her community, and has never looked back. The day closed off in a major way thanks to a free concert that featured performances by Ike along with Protoje, Romain Virgo, Jah Lil, Jahshii, and a number of Artists from within the community. Reggae Artist Mortimer is gearing up to make the rest of 2024 an amazing time. With a solid catalogue, his music is just getting better as he delves into an artistry that makes him a standout. Recently, he announced the new album, “From Within“, and it promises to be his best release yet. Ahead of the album’s release, he released a number of singles, and now follows up with “Bruises“.

Co-Produced with Winta James for Overstand Entertainment, Mortimer enlists Kabaka Pyramid and Lila Ike to tackle serious issues on “Bruises”. The track speaks on the pain and suffering endured by Black people, the trauma that has been passed down through generations, and calls out those who try to justify the pain that was dished out. The three Artists share their unique voices and verses over some solid production, making the track one that will open door to more discussions about giving the victims their just due. September 20 looks to be a big day, and the anticipation for “From Within” has been growing. New music from a future legend.

Lila Ike has been making it happen in her music career, and she’s doing it well. Her talents has taken her to various parts of the world, and has provided her a diverse fanbase. Still building her career level by level, she has managed to secure high profile brand partnerships, and musical collaborations. Recently, she unveiled her latest single, “I Want You“.

Produced by XTM.Nation, Lila Ike teams up with the legendary iNi Kamoze for “I Want You”.  This collaboration finds two greats delivering a love song that will become anthems for many, and it highlights the old and new school styles coming together. iNi has been an inspiration for many Artists, and his timeless music will always be a part of the conversations. Lila has proven herself to be an International superstar, and this new track will be considered one of her biggest hits. Accompanying the single, is a Music Video directed by Birhan Tonge and Filmaica, and was shot in Irish Town, St. Andrew, and in California. The video finds both Artists performing the track, but iNi can be seen in a Studio, while Lila takes it to the party. Love is a beautiful thing.
