Jamaican-born/Florida-based Producer/Musician/Recording Artist Kris-Karz continues to push his music to new listeners, and build his production game. Throughout the year, he released new music, and has been working on a new project for release in the coming weeks. Recently, he enjoyed music placements with popular American Magazine, Architectural Digest, and this week he celebrates new placements with the renowned Ebony Magazine.

Ebony Magazine, since 1945, has provided a monthly lifestyle magazine that highlighted News, Culture, and Entertainment, with focus on some of the best African American names in Sports, Music, Film, Politics, and Fashion. They launched a series called “Beautiful Black Homes” that featured unique homes owned by some of your faves, and for their recent video, they highlighted the home of Actress Meagan Good. The 6 and a half minute video showed off some eye-catching Interior Design along with well-liked Architecture, and the tracks “Energy” and “Reciprocation” from Kris Karz. The Instrumental versions of “Energy” and “Reciprocation” were released in 2021 and 2022 respectively, and were included in a project called, “Portraits“, that wasn’t fully released.

Kris-Karz, born Kris-Anthony Smith in Manchester, Jamaica, is the founder of Kngly Studios, and its main Producer and Recording Artist. He is also the mind behind the Youtube Acoustic series, “Kngly Live”, which provided a platform for Recording Artists and Musicians from South Florida and surrounding areas to showcase their talent. He has produced for a number of local and overseas-based Artists, and has performed at a number of events in Miami, Atlanta, and northern parts of America. As a Recording Artist, he has released singles such as, “LUST”, “Heartbreak”, “Text Me”, “GUSH”, and more recently “Safe With Me”. He is currently finalizing a number of releases for 2025.

Manchester-based Dancehall Artist Kacique has been building on his brand for the better part of 2024. With a number of singles out, he has been keeping his lyrical sword sharp, and welcoming more members to be a part of his movement. Some say he’s underrated, while others are awaiting his major breakout. Until then, he continues to be a “Problem” for his enemies.

Produced by OneSpinn/Kaboom Music/The CarZilla Effect, Kacique is busy getting to the money, and continues to elevate over all who wish for his downfall in “Problem”. Manchester To Offer Unique Cuisine & More With Upcoming Food & Drink Festival

2024 has been a year for big events. Whatever your taste was, the Island had an event to accommodate you. While many big events are held in the Island’s capital of Kingston, there have complaints and suggestions to give the other Parishes a chance to host. The Parish of Manchester, where the city life collides with the country life, has been one of the spots that seeks to provide a home to many special events. Next year, it will launch its own Food & Drink Festival.

Organized by Di Village and held at Brooks Park in Mandeville, the “Manchester Food & Drink Festival” aims to introduce a variety of unique cuisine to the public, provide a platform for the upcoming and seasoned Chef, host live entertainment, and amplify the message that the Parish of Manchester is very capable of hosting some of the Island’s best events. With the construction of the Southern Coastal Highway, transportation has been made easier, making the Parish a central hotspot. The Festival was announced earlier this year, and the Organizers have been on the road spreading awareness of the event, inviting Vendors and Sponsors to make their contributions to the event, and adding the finishing touches for the big day. Olivia Coley, a member of the organizing team, has been making connections with various Schools in the Parish, giving students with Culinary ambitions to showcase their talent through a series of events at the Festival. She looks forward to great support from not only Manchester, but the rest of Jamaica, and hopes to make it a yearly family event.

For the foodies, food lovers, and Festival seekers, the “Manchester Food & Drink Festival” welcomes you on Wednesday, January 1 at Brooks Park, Mandeville from 1 P.M. to 10 P.M.. You can pay at the gate to attend, and they range from $2000 for Adults, $1000 for the 10-17 age group, while kids enter free. If you wish to secure tickets, “Dealz N Tings” at Grove Court (Mandeville), and “Water Drops Waterstore” at the Central Dealers Mall (Formerly Caledonia Mall in Mandeville) are the outlets to get them. Before the month is over, we want to show respect to an Architect in Jamaican Music. a Man who created a wave in the early years of Ska Music, and made his name prominent in other genres, that soon made him an inspiration, and Icon. His name is Byron Lee, and if there was a “National Heroes Of Jamaican Music” category, he would’ve been on the list. The late Musician/Producer/Entrepreneur took the music to new territories, and has received numerous accolades for his accomplishments. His Dynamics Sounds Studio was one of the best in the Caribbean, he produced classics in multiple genres, and he gave us “Jamaica Carnival“, popularizing Soca Music in Jamaica, making it accessible for everyone. His band, The Dragonaires, became the standard for many bands in the Caribbean, and have been in movies, on the Radio, and at an event near you. Byron Lee has done so much for Jamaican Music, but today we’re highlighting some of the music that sampled the work of Mr. Lee in our latest Playlist.

While the list is not long, we invite you to tune in to some of the hits that Byron Lee produced over the years, and some of the tracks that used his sound to make their own hits. Jamaican-born/Florida-based Producer/Musician/Recording Artist Kris-Karz has been on the scene for a number of years, and when he’s not producing for the likes of Kapital Stone, Royal Blu, Blvk H3ro, Dylan Golden, and Lola Jaan, he’s putting together his own music to speak about love, relationships, and life overall. He has gained recognition in Jamaica, throughout parts of the United States, and other parts of the world, but recently his profile expanded to new territories thanks to his recent placement with popular American Magazine, Architectural Digest.

Architectural Digest expanded their platform to host a number of video-based content on Youtube in recent years, where they feature property, Interior Design, and landscaping from celebrities, and other big names. For their latest entry in their “Open Door” series, they highlighted property from Miami Heat superstar, Jimmy Butler. The 14 minute clip showcased the NBA star’s Southern California Mansion with designs from popular Interior Decorator Tiffany Brooks, and featured music from Kris-Karz’s “Portraits” project. “Portraits” was a project that was announced in 2021 but not fully released, and included the singles “LUST”, “LOVE”, and “ENERGY”. The Instrumental for the tracks “LOVE” and “ENERGY” were featured in the closing of the video, along with other production from Karz that were played in various parts.
