Isha Blender, Jamaica, Reggae, Dancehall, Everton Blender, 13thStreetPromotions, Press Release, PR, Music, Epiphany

@IshaBlender Has An “Epiphany”!

Isha Williams was a Toddler in the early 1990s, a period of cultural awareness in Dancehall led by a phalanx of Artists, including her father, Everton Blender. Strongly influenced by his message, she followed his path into music as Isha Blender. Her first EP, Epiphany, will be released in October. It contains seven songs with Don’t Be Used, an acoustic number, being the lead.

Blender first recordings began at age 12 with the first being Bad Boy, produced by her father¬†for his Blend Dem label.¬†She continued to record sporadically while attending Garvey Maceo High School¬†in her native Clarendon. Shortly after graduation, she migrated to the United¬†States, settling in South Florida where she is a registered nurse.¬†‚ÄúBecause my dad‚Äôs an Entertainer, people think you have to do the same thing,¬†but it doesn‚Äôt have to be,‚ÄĚ she said. ‚ÄúI kept going away from music, but I was¬†pulled back like magnet to steel.‚ÄĚ

Epiphany¬†also contains Testimony, a duet with Capleton,¬†Tonight,¬†Joy, and¬†Babymother.¬†Capleton and Everton Blender were part of the Roots Renaissance of the 1990s¬†that was led by Yasus Afari, Garnet Silk and Tony Rebel. Everton Blender had a¬†series of big hits back then such as¬†Lift Up Your Head, Family Man¬†and¬†Blend Dem.¬†While she counts the ‚Äėold man‚Äô among her biggest influences, Isha Blender says¬†she gets a different vibe listening to different genres. Neo-soul artistes Erykah¬†Badu and Jill Scott, as well as homegrown acts Nadine Sutherland, Etana,¬†Tessanne Chin and Ikaya are also favourites.¬†She is hoping Epiphany will be a career definer.¬†‚ÄúI want to be an household name as Isha Blender. At the same time I want my¬†songs to uplift and motivate like my Dad.‚ÄĚ

However, she said the females are claiming it as the single that has them dancing when they listen it.

‚Äú’B Rider’ is being well received. It has been creating a buzz both locally and Internationally, on the radio stations and the dances. The dancers all love it,¬†especially the DHQ dancers; they post videos dancing to the song¬†on¬†Instagram¬†and received over 90,000 views in just few days,‚ÄĚ said Summer¬†Roze.

When asked what inspired the song, she said: ‚ÄúI wanted to stay in the same lane¬†of my first single “Bumpa”,¬†which did well. Deejay/Producer L. Razor Drops Shanti Riddim With All-Female Lineup!

New York based¬†Jamaican Producer/Artist¬†L Razor is upbeat ahead of his¬†latest project, Shanti Riddim.¬†Slated to be released on September 16 on his Straight Hit Records¬†Imprint, the¬†Riddim¬†boasts an all-female cast.¬†‚ÄúThis project has such a high expectation on it because of all the hard work it took¬†to get eight great hard-working female Artists on one Riddim. The female Artists have been fighting for their place in the male-dominated Dancehall¬†Industry. That is why I decided to put a stop to it and put the ladies on the¬†forefront of Dancehall, so the Industry can be balanced properly,‚ÄĚ said L Razor.

The acts featured on Shanti Riddim are Macka Diamond, Tiana, Candiesha,¬†Sekklez, Beme Mystique,¬†Trudiva, Semonita, and Rhythm Piink.¬†The set will be available on all digital outlets.¬†The producer said a medley video is in the works.¬†‚ÄúWe‚Äôre set to drop two medley videos of all the Artists showcasing their songs.¬†One medley was shot in New York, while the second is be shot in Jamaica next¬†week,‚ÄĚ he said.

I enjoyed every minute working on this project, making it a great¬†experience for me,” Bugle said.

Kick Off features 14 tracks from artistes such as Busy Signal, Agent Sasco, Mr Easy, Tifa, Fully Bad, Samboni, Tarrus Riley, Dexta Daps, Dean Loyal, Craigy T, Sizzla, Popcaan, Cobra, Kibaki and Bugle. The compilation is getting rave reviews from fans and industry players alike, showing that it is possible to put out excellent Production with an interesting mix of veterans and up-and-coming Dancehall stars.
