The Hip Hop culture continues to have some life in Jamaica, with many contributors and new styles. One contributor returns to the fold, and that is Montego Bay-based Rapper MoulaUE. Having taken time off for family and life outside of the Studio, he looks to make a mark in the 2020s, and show that he still has what it takes. He concluded his hiatus with the track, “Floormats“.

Produced by Limitless Joe, MoulaUE proves that despite taking a leave of absence, his skillset hasn’t left in “Floormats”. The “Mobay Mayor” gives a nod to some of his peers, and gives listeners a dose of what has been missing for a while. During his absence there was a rise in the Trap Dancehall movement, and we believe he can still secure a place in the scene as Montego Bay is home to many of the stars of the movement. The bars are still solid, and he can command any production that’s sent his way. We hope he maintains the consistency this time around. MoulaUE returns to Rap.

Smiiley YS Is All About Getting The “Euro”

When it comes to hustling, it’s all about Dollars and Cents. Anything outside of that doesn’t make sense. However you earn your bread is up to you as you ensure that things are taken care of. Upcoming Montego Bay-based Dancehall Artist Smiiley YS knows the importance of that, and he utilizes the means that are provided to get his. He steps out with the video for his new single, “Euro“.

“Euro” was done on the “Chakka Riddim” which was produced by DJ Mac/Crash Dummy and released through Young Step Music (Mixed by Tip God Music), Smiiley YS is all about getting to the money by any means. To get to the level where you’re “stink with the money” is not an easy feat, but faith can move mountains, fill pockets, and keep Bank accounts happy. It may be a lot of work, but he shares some of the benefits that come with his success as well. “Euro” was released in the early part of April, and has been getting positive feedback since. He followed up with a Music Video that was directed by Divine Global Production, and it’s all about the money, the Women, and upgrades to the wardrobe. Many individuals come from impoverished areas with difficult upbringings, so when the opportunity to get rich is available, there’s no turning back as a better life to live is out there for them. Smiiley YS may be new to the scene for some, but he is working on becoming an overall better Artist, and one to pay attention to. Time to make money.

Produced by Lucas Quinn, Chase Soundz provides some motivation on “P.U.S.H”. With a renewed focus and sharper lyrics, Chase provides the new single for those who need a boost today. He reflects on times of trouble, but moves forward with a confidence that can be contagious. Despite a few setbacks, expect more music to be released before the end of the year. For those unfamiliar, Chase Soundz is a US-based Rapper who hails from Montego Bay, St. James. In 2021, Dancehall Artist Tommy Lee Sparta collaborated with an emerging Artist named Skeng. Together, they released a single called “Protocol“, and Skeng’s life changed even more. “Protocol” became a standout track for the two, one of Tommy Lee’s best collaborations, and Skeng found himself getting endorsed from some of the top Artists including Rapper Nicki Minaj, who then gave him a few big opportunities in the following months. In 2022, Skeng and Tommy Lee Sparta look to cause another ruckus with “Protocol 2“!

Produced by Dre Swade Production/Boss Lady Muzik, “Protocol 2” finds Tommy Lee Sparta and Skeng loading up even more guns. The Mobay Sparta boss and the Spanish Town Don secured another hit collab, and fans will give this one even more love. The Yaad Boiiz directed visual finds Skeng repping Sparta while Tommy Lee Sparta is incarcerated, with the rest of the Sparta crew securing the ends. While “Protocol” did a lot of damage, “Protocol 2” is here for another round.

Dre Zee Makes Impressive Debut At @ReggaeSumfest, Gears Up For New Music!

Montego Bay based Recording Artist Dre Zee is focused on taking his brand to new levels this year, and beyond. The rising Artist has been showcasing his talents on various productions in the past few years, and has what it takes to become a household name locally, and abroad. A Chef by trade, he ensures that not only he can feed the mind with great music, but feed the body with tantalizing meals daily. His musical talents however, was put on in full view of the world recently at Reggae Sumfest 2022.

Held on “Festival Night 2” on July 23, Reggae Sumfest became Dre Zee’s platform to show everyone that he is the Artist they need to know. Dre Zee shared the stage with the likes of Shaneil Muir, Beres Hammond, Sizzla, Koffee, and many others, contributing to an unforgettable night. Running through a few of his singles, Dre Zee spoke about the ups and downs in life that he and many others experience, and secured his stance as one of the representatives for Dancehall music to a very receptive audience, including those who attended online. Though his set was brief, Dre Zee was impressive, and those in attendance showed approval with a series of cheers and comments throughout.

With a wave positive reviews shared on Social Media since his Reggae Sumfest debut, expect Dre Zee to capitalize throughout the rest of 2022 with a series of live performances, and new music. Dre Zee has a few years of experience as a Recording Artist, and is known for the singles “In My Head”, “Money Deh Yah Nuff”, “One Life”, “God’s Push”, and “Curfew”. He is currently finalizing singles for release, including a few with One McKinley Crescent Records (OMC), the label behind his “Curfew” single. Directed by DirectorBadz, Squash puts his best foot forward in the music video for “Foot”. With his 6ix crew in attendance, they all show off fancy footwork while Squash continues to dominant with his music. A preview of “Foot” was shared on TikTok a few weeks ago, so the music video is just a way to capitalize off of the viral success.
