.@DJHearNoEvil15 Gears Up To Speak At @DeafEmpowerAF Keynotes In Jamaica

The Deaf Empowerment Abroad Foundation (D.E.A.F.) has selected DJ Hear No Evil from Mount Vernon, New York as their keynote speaker in Kingston and Knockpatrick (Manchester) Jamaica. On March 15th and 16th, he will be touring several schools in Jamaica, sharing the art of DJing, overcoming obstacles, and his story as a Deaf/hearing impaired DJ.

The Deaf Empowerment Abroad Foundation aims to inspire, affirm, and motivate the youth in the Deaf community. The moves made will assist in breaking down the beliefs in Jamaican society that Deaf = Dumb, and Deaf = Can Not. These attitudes are also prominent in most Deaf children’s homes, resulting in negative stigmas, non-acceptance, and loss of self-worth. The camp affirms Deafness as a culture and aims to empower Deaf youth with the knowledge of Deaf Can!

Stepping outside of my zone, I let my hands tell the story to express myself on a deeper level through the set to
raise the bar to obtaining the huge opportunities whether if i’m Deaf/hard of hearing or not.

.@DiRealShaggy & @OfficialSting Perform “Don’t Make Me Wait” At 60th Grammys!

The 60th Grammy Awards event was a memorable one for many. While some went home with awards, there were others who got “robbed“, and others performed and made an impact. It was all fun when Host James Corden teamed up with International Recording Artists Shaggy and Sting for a special version of “Carpool Karaoke“. With the location of the Grammys being in New York, they took it to the Subway to perform a 3 man version of Shaggy and Sting’s new single, “Don’t Make Me Wait“. The performance was met with boos however as passengers weren’t enjoying Corden’s contribution. Being persistent, Corden continued to perform with them only to end up with a bloody nose.

The 2nd half of Shaggy & Sting’s appearance found them being introduced at the Grammys by Corden for a real performance of their new single. It first kicked off with Sting performing his classic “Englishman In New York” which followed by Shaggy appearing onstage later. With many mistaking Shaggy for Rapper Jim Jones because of his appearance, the performance was an awesome one, and definitely had people looking forward to their “44/876” project which has a April 20 release date. @MainlyMali & @MeLoXTRA Give Us The Summertime Vibe In “Hoity Toity”!

This is for the bad gyal, rude gyal, cute gyal, stush gyal, new gyal dem! New York based Artists Alex Mali and MeLo X (of the duo Electric Punanny) bring the Caribbean vibes in their new single and video, “Hoity Toity“! Produced by Ninease, Alex and MeLo deliver a fun song that’ll have you thinking about the Summer cookouts, the block parties, the Caribbean parades, and the new fashion for the season. The video, directed by Thrice Cooked Media however, brings all the elements from those into one colourful, flag waving, gun finger saluting, Caribbean backyard party! While Alex brings the melody, MeLo brings the deejaying and they spread that Island love to the world! For those not up to speed, “Hoity Toity” is Jamaican (or mainly Caribbean) term for being a snob, or bougie/bourgeoisie. If you a bad gyal, please back it up like a Dumpa Truck! Keep this on rotation as the cold time creeps up for that instant heat! Check out “Hoity Toity” below!

@MainlyMali Lets It All Out On New “Livin” Freestyle!

Introducing to the Blog is a NY based Artist by the name of Alex Mali. She has been around for a while releasing some dope tunes, and she proudly reps her West Indian background (Jamaica & Trinidad). For those familiar with the Joey BadA$$ & PRO ERA, you may have heard her on a track or two. With some fire on the way, she gives listeners a taste with a Freestyle titled “Livin“. Produced by KDVG, she describes her tune as an “expression of Parental disapproval” as she points out a few clashes with her Mother. We love our Moms, but there are times where we’re just not gonna see eye to eye with ordeals and expectations. If you know Caribbean Mothers, you know there weren’t just regular arguments. We may be a lil rebellious at times, but we love you Mama! I’m sorry. Check out the track below.

StuntMan: @IAmSafaree Fires Shots In New @FunkFlex Freestyle!

Many have thrown dirt his way over the years, but Recording Artist/Fur Expert Safaree stands tall regardless. Recently, he stopped by the Hot 97 Studio to rap a few bars for Funkmaster Flex. As a part of the DJ’s Freestyle series, Safaree fires off in episode 78. From changing furs during, to sending a jab at fellow Jamaican, popular Youtube personality DJ Akademiks, we’re surprised he didn’t throw his signature “Suck ya mada” during. Not a bad episode here, Safaree makes sure he adds his “Stuntman” charisma throughout. Shout out Messiah the “Fur God“. Catch Safaree in a city near you, or a TV near you. Check out the video below.
