Reggae music is a dominating genre the world over. Hailing from Jamaica and with the help of acts including Bob Marley, it touched and inspired all walks of life to the point its byproducts were not limited to coming from the island itself. One of the Jamaica acts to witness its global reach and effects is singer Richie Stephens. Here on Onstage he spoke about his recent tour which was a tremendous success, his collaborations with artists from Portugal to Germany including Gentleman, how Jamaica is missing out on all this attention, how local acts can benefit overseas and many more topics. Reggae is a very strong genre and the Jamaican culture broke every barrier possible. If only “Brand Jamaica” made it possible for the locals to benefit as well. What do you think of the Interview? On tonight’s episode of Onstage, the legendary Queen Patra was interviewed by Winford Williams. Here she spoke about her reasons on her absence at the BET Awards, the music Industry, not being classified as just being a Dancehall artist, maintaining her fanbase, and her upcoming projects. She even previewed her “Sweet Reggae Music” video. Good to see Patra still doing her thing. She’s still very hot too. I wasn’t aware that she was invited to perform at the BET Awards along with Shabba Ranks but as she said she wasn’t feeling good about the opportunity. What do you think? SOJA

Since Bob Marley’s rise in stardom, he has been one of the artists that helped to put Jamaica and Reggae Music on the map in a major way, and was also an influence to many worldwide. Since then Jamaica has been the one stop shop for foreigners to learn about the music and culture to share in their own way. Reggae band SOJA was one of the groups that were influenced by the culture and Bob Marley’s music and were interviewed by Winford Williams earlier. Here the Virginia based Reggae band spoke about their start, their influences, how Bob Marley grasped their attention, being the leading Reggae act in America and recognized greatly worldwide in their 13 year career. They also spoke about Religion, Reggae still being dominant in the future and many more topics. Very interesting Interview, Reggae Music has touched many lives worldwide. With Bob Marley being the top artist even after his passing, many were influenced and followed in his footsteps. If you’ve never heard of SOJA before, I suggest you get some of their music now. OnstageMackaD

After her feud with Deejay Spice, Macka Diamond was determined to make 2013 her year and with the recent release of her single, it seems it could just be that. Last night she joined Winford Williams on the Onstage set. Here she spoke about making 2013 her year after the feud with Spice, a short stint at the hospital for Dehydration recently, and of course her hit “Dye Dye“. She also premiered a follow up to “Dye Dye” titled “Twist Me“. Good interview, good to know that she didn’t lengthen her feud with Spice as they are both great acts. I was unaware of her hospitalization bit I’m glad she’s doing better. The life of an entertainer is very hectic so measures must be taken to be in tip top shape. What do you think of the interview? What did you think of the follow up single? Being a star athlete has many benefits but when the popularity dies down or an injury ends the career what can they do to stay afloat? Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had a chat with Winford Williams about this and more. Here she spoke about her newest business venture which consists of selling hair extensions. She also spoke about the process in getting the hair extensions, styling herself, creating jobs, scheduling her life, her life outside of athletics and giving back to Jamaica in many ways. Great Interview with the track star, apart from her many ventures she lives a pretty normal life. Looking forward to more from her in the future. What you think? After making headlines recently, Khago was the next artist to make it onto the Onstage set. Here he spoke about his sister who called him out publicly with negative remarks, the negative energy he has received recently, his recent performances, Beenie Man showing him love and helping him out in his career, his issues with management, his album and future projects. Interesting Interview by the artist, he sure spoke his mind on his struggles before making it big, management and providing for his mom. I hope there isn’t anymore negative news about him in the near future. What you think? Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
