Laden Shares His “Jailhouse Story”!

It’s never easy when life is spent behind bars. While some may have the privilege of treating it like a “home away from home“, others are not so lucky. Dancehall Artist Laden, who was enjoying life in music, had to face the consequences of his action when he was sentenced to 4 years for illegal gun possession, and 18 months for possession of ammunition. His presence may be missed on the scene, but he holds on through the new track, “Jailhouse Story“.

Produced by Armzhouse Records, Laden takes us to the day he was locked up, to his current state behind bars. While he shared some of what has been happening including missing out on his daughter’s graduation, he is sorry that life has lead him to this situation. He acknowledges that he is missed by friend, family, and fans, and he emphasizes that “Freedom is a must“, with him returning to the outside world soon. Despite what got him there, we hope Laden is keeping it together, and staying creative.

NEW VIDEO: @RealiOctane – Prison Life

The bad man life is never nice, it’s either you lose your life in the streets or end up in prison and today I-Octane heeds warning to those living above the law in the visual to a single that could possibly be a part of 2015’s top 20 songs. “Prison Life” was directed by Bling Blang Productions and The Board and kicks off with a prisoner’s poem followed by Octane spreading the message and depicts scenes of “prison life” played by talent such as Majah Bless. Given Octane’s delivery, it was only fitting that he performed a song like this as he gives listeners a picture while Bling Blang and The Board brought it to life. Look out for I Octane as he’s currently on tour in Europe! Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW MUSIC: @DMedzMusic – No Vote

With the recent news of a Prison to be constructed here thanks to a deal between the UK and the Jamaican Government, and with Politicians giving Jamaicans stress and oppression over the years, the question is asked, “What are we voting for?“. Today Recording Artist D-Medz speaks his mind on “No Vote“. With the help of clips from a recent Vox pop, the “Rebel Souljah” gets at Politicians who make life uneasy for the people, makes it clear that things won’t get better no matter which Political Party is voted in, and questions the value of a vote. Something to think about the next time a Political Rally comes around, and when Election time comes. Off his “Empower EP“, check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @RadikalProdigal x @KonshensSojah – I Am Going Home

KPSToday’s new video comes from the unlikely collaboration of Gospel deejay Prodigal Son and Dancehall artist Konshens. Titled “I Am Going Home” and directed by Professa and Dr. Lex, we hear both artists speak on not becoming a part of the statistics and wanting the escape the traps whether mental or physical prisons. Simple video from the artists, interesting to have a man bound by chains as well. Free yourself, don’t be apart of the statistics. While this may be a controversial collaboration, I didn’t see the need for it to be taken down.Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
