.@CrisCab Returns With @BobMarley’s “Is This Love” Cover

We’ve often said on here that Caribbean music hits different. Jamaican music is the vibe, and we know its effects when it touches people around the world. The Island is home to the legendary Bob Marley, and his music has inspired so much. One of the persons to be affected by his music is Miami-based Recording Artist/Musician Cris Cab. He first emerged on the scene in 2011, and scored an International hit in 2013 with “Liar, Liar“. He decided to go on a hiatus for some time, but recently returned to the scene with a special release. He presents his cover of Bob Marley’s classic, “Is This Love“.

With a Music Video directed by Andrew and Daniel Terry, Cris Cab takes it to the seashore and the Studio for his “Is This Love” cover. Armed with his Guitar, Cab delivers in the best way he knows to do the iconic song justice. “Is This Love” was originally performed by Bob Marley & The Wailers and released in 1978. The track was featured on the “Kaya” album, and later the “Legend” compilation album. It was certified Gold and Platinum in a number of countries, and was also covered by the likes of Rihanna, Carly Simon, Adam Lambert, and Corrine Bailey Rae, who won a GRAMMY for it in 2012. It was also sampled by Outkast, James Blunt, Toosii, and Prince among others. Cris Cab returns to music in fine style.

If Ymo G Can “BLV” It, He Will Achieve It

Ymo G returns with new music, and he is still on the grind to make Billions. Last time around he had the people staying busy on the “Call App“, but now he wants you to “BLV” in the craft.

Produced by Sulfa Ge Records/Ojay Dann Records/Nedrick Beats, Ymo G continues to get to the money wherever it is in “BLV”. There may be roadblocks and opposition, but at the end of the day, he wants you to believe in the mission, because the riches will come. The Music Video, directed by Banka for Bankroller Visuals and featuring emerging Video Vixen Zho (who pulled off the role of an old lady well), Ymo G is going the extra mile for the funds, even if it means breaking into houses. Despite the many debates of the new wave of Chop Dancehall, Ymo G is one of the voices who has gained a sizable following thanks to his catalogue, and he provides a visual of what can happen in that scene. Whether you get it by the leads, or by other means, just “BLV” in the craft.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Phyllis Dillon – Don’t Stay Away (1967)

Oldies Sunday” was made for those who grew up around the Radio, who grew up with Vinyl Records, Cassettes, CDs, MP3 Players, 8 Track, and Music Streaming platforms. In other words, for those who appreciate the music before our time, and those who lived in the time of these tunes. Today’s selection comes from one of Jamaica’s greatest Songbirds. Her name is Phyllis Dillon, and we’re checking out, “Don’t Stay Away“.

Produced by Duke Reid with backing by Tommy McCook and The Supersonics and released through his Treasure Isle Records in 1967, it’s all about a love that has strong hold on someone in Phyllis Dillon’s “Don’t Stay Away”. Dillon shares that if the Man she’s interested knew the extent of her love, he wouldn’t have considered other Women. While there may be other Women who she claims are more beautiful than her and would try to treat him nice, she believes she would do a better job, and he wouldn’t need another. “Don’t Stay Away” was a hit for Phyllis Dillon, was considered “the finest female performance in Jamaican Music“, and was her first Record with Duke Reid. “Don’t Stay Away” was also sampled by Kes The Band for the track, “Tuesday On The Rocks” in 2012 Dillon went on to voice even more music with Duke Reid, acquiring more success along the way.

Since the release of “Don’t Stay Away”, Phyllis Dillon migrated to the United States, and released more music including her debut album, “One Life To Live” while having a career in the Banking sector. She ended her career as a Recording Artist in 1971, but thanks to an invitation to perform in Jamaica in the early 1990s, she developed a renewed interest in recording and performing. By the mid-1990s, a resurgence of Ska music in the United States lead her back into the Studio, and she remained active touring, performing, and recording until her passing on April 15, 2004 after a battle with Cancer. “Don’t Stay Away” remains one of Dillon’s biggest singles, and is still celebrated around the world.

Thank You Phyllis Dillon For This Classic!

.@Kris_Karz Returns With New Single, “Gush”

Recording Artist/Musician/Producer Kris-Karz is back with new music. Fresh from a short hiatus, Karz looks to stay consistent with new content, reconnect with old listeners, and solidify new relationships. His return brings out a new focus, and he makes things interesting with the release of, “Gush“.

The self-produced “Gush” single was released through Kngly Studios, and Kris-Karz aims to have the attention of the ladies for this one. He sets the tone with the opener, “Get sexy to this…“, and from there, it’s all about breaking the tensions, things getting hot and heavy, moans, and dirty talk. When it’s all over, there will be pillow talk, blown minds, and whatever stress that was there before, will cease to exist. Kris-Karz has been catering to the ladies with his selection of tunes over time, and we can expect “Gush” to make waves (pun intended maybe?) in the coming weeks and months. We encourage you to reach out to your favourite DJ or Radio platform to keep this one in rotation. Ladies are encouraged to make videos dancing to, lip-syncing to, and being sexy to the new single. Be on the look out for content in support of “Gush”, and more offerings from the US-based Recording Artist/Musician/Producer. If you haven’t been familiar with Kris-Karz, click here.

.@DemarcoDaDon Stays Cautious On “White Sugar Look Like Salt”

They say seeing is believing, but in some cases your eyes can betray you. When it comes to people, you don’t always see and know their true intentions under the smiles and charisma. Dancehall Artist Demarco has had his share of people being deceptive towards him, and he speaks on it in “White Sugar Look Like Salt“.

Produced by Xtreme On The Beat/CashFlow Records/True Gift Ent., Demarco stays cautious on “White Sugar Look Like Salt”. There are people in the world with an inviting exterior who deep down have cruel intentions, and won’t hesitate to do you harm. In Demarco’s words, “Me nuh trust dem a bl***cl***!“. He is aware of the people who spoke ill of him when he worked to make his life better, and he has experienced the times when the people he helped wanted to end his life. Be careful of the paths you trod, and the friends you keep. Stay safe out there.
