.@ShenYeng Releases “Deserve It” Single Off Upcoming Debut Album

Dancehall Artist Shenseea is still riding high, and making her name find its place in more parts of the globe. While she’s still getting a substantial buzz from her rather controversial Lick” single featuring Meg Thee Stallion, ShenYeng is all about getting right for her upcoming debut album, “Alpha“. She takes things up a notch with the new single, “Deserve It“.

Produced by Rvssian, Shenseea is continuing her path of branching out to doing other forms of music. “Deserve It” brings forward a very poppy vibe, and Shenseea finds herself pursuing someone special on the track. The track looks to become a Billboard Pop Charts contender, and we will see over time if her star power will shine brighter than ever. The uptempo vibes here definitely encourages us to dance, and we know her fans are loving every bit of this. What else do you think Shenseea has in store for us on her debut album? Stay tuned!

OLDIES SUNDAY: Denise Belfon Ft. MAW & Puppah Nas-T – Work (2001)

You know we had to do this. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection will be a little spicy as we take trips to Trinidad and Tobago and New York to check out MAW a.k.a. Masters At Work, Puppah Nas-T, and Denise “Saucy Wow” Belfon’sWork“.

Produced by MAW (a.k.a. Kenny Dope and Little Louie Vega) and Puppah Nas-T and released through MAW Records and Tommy Boy Records, “Work” features Soca Artist Denise Belfon, who is the lead vocalist on the track. Listeners would be invited a showcase of double entendres as Denise is need of someone who would take their “broom” to “sweep her yard” with emphasis on “put yuh back in it“, and “going downtown“. The song features a mix of House Music and Calypso sounds, which provides an enjoyable listen (a guilty pleasure for those who have a thing for double entendres and suggestive lyrics).

“Work” was a successful single for MAW, Puppah Nas-T, and Densie Belfon as the track charted high on the Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart peaking at #7. “Work” was popular in various countries including the US, South Africa, Brazil, and various Caribbean countries including Trinidad and Tobago. “Work” would enjoy a long shelf life thanks to various remixes of the track done by Global Deejays and Danny Marquez, Theo Schwarz, Riffs and Rays, and others. A remix of “Work” done by DJ Flex and Equiknoxx in 2019 became a viral sensation on Social Media thanks to various wining videos made for it on TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram. On January 21, 2022, “Work” would be given more life again thanks to Dancehall Artist Shenseea, US Rapper Megan Thee Stallion, and US Producer Murda Beatz sampling it for the controversial single, “Lick. Where will “Work” find itself next?

THANK YOU MAW, PUPPAH NAS-T, AND DENISE BELFON FOR THIS CLASSIC!

Get A Taste Of @ShenYeng & @TheeStallion’s “Lick” Single

2022 may have started off in a not so great way (Covid is doing numbers still, stay safe!), but we give thanks for new music, right? Making a splash here today, is the combination of Dancehall star Shenseea, and US Rapper Megan Thee Stallion as they deliver a song that will stir up a few conversations. Today we hear the track, “Lick“.

A collaboration that was anticipated since the two met, Shenseea and Megan Thee Stallion made a bold step with the release of “Lick”, which was produced by Murda Beatz. With the topic of Oral Sex still finding its balance in Jamaica, the ladies made it very clear what they require from their lovers on the track. Shenseea borrows the hook from Trini Icon Denise Belfon’s “Work”, which was remixed and became very popular on Social Media thanks to a series of wining videos. While the song may rub some the wrong way, others may just find this to be a great addition to their Playlists.

As Shenseea continues to find her place on the International market thanks to collabs with Tyga, Masego, and Kanye West, and various celebrities endorsing her, expect “Lick” to become more than trending topic on Twitter. This isn’t Meg’s first collab with Caribbean Artists as she previously joined Popcaan on “Intercourse, and Cardi B on the infamous “WAP” single. How about iShawna on the remix?

Does this song fit your taste? Check out “Lick” below, and share with a friend. Show us some love/follow us on Twitter and Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.

Kanye West - "Donda" album featuring Shenseea and Buju Banton on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #KanyeWest #Donda

.@ShenYeng & @BujuBanton Featured On @KanyeWest’s “DONDA” Album!

Just a few hours ago, International Recording Artist/Producer/Entrepreneur Kanye West released his tenth studio album, “DONDA“. It was met with multiple delays, but this year saw it being previewed at a few events. During those events, many of the album’s guest features showed up as a part of the rollout. Today, we highlight two of the album’s features, Dancehall Artist Shenseea, and Reggae/Dancehall Icon Buju Banton.

Kanye West’s “DONDA” album is packed with 26 tracks, with a mix of many genres and sounds. Shenseea represents Dancehall on the album via the track, “Ok ok Pt. 2” and “Pure Souls“, while Buju Banton steps in for Reggae on the track, “Believe What I Say“. Shenseea steps in “Ok Ok Pt. 2” with a verse along with Rapper Fivio Foreign and she sings on “Pure Souls”, while Buju shares a few bars along with some words of wisdom over a Lauryn Hill sampled track. Kanye West is no stranger to having Dancehall/Reggae sounds and Artists on his albums as Agent Sasco, Beenie Man, and Capleton appeared on his “Yeezus” album in 2013. Yeezy SZN is here, and we know many listeners will be making the most out of the album today.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Home T, Cocoa Tea, Shabba Ranks – Pirates’ Anthem (1988)

This one is dedicated to those who strive to get the music out there by any means, legally or illegally. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Home T, Cocoa Tea, and Shabba Ranks titled, “Pirates’ Anthem“.

Produced by Augustus “Gussie” Clarke, “Pirates’ Anthem” was released through Music Works Records and Anchor Records in 1988. On the track, Home T, Cocoa Tea, and Shabba Ranks team up for a dedication to all those who build pirated Radio Stations to play the songs that need to be played. While Radio Stations around the world have a set list of songs for airplay, Pirated stations bypass that by having the freedom to play any song in all its glory without worry about editing, and certain regulations. The only problems Pirate Radio may face are getting shut down, and possible incrimination. Regardless, they all return to play what the people want to hear. Pirate Radio has gained massive popularity through the decades, and new ones are being made often. Home T, Cocoa Tea, and Shabba Ranks display great chemistry on the track, and “Pirates’ Anthem” became a hit for them. The single was featured on the 1989 album, “Holding On“, which was released through Greensleeves Records. “Pirates’ Anthem” was given the sample treatment a few times, and some include Hannibal Lecter’sJust Because We Play“, 2Pac’sViolent“, and Shenseea’sRun Run” which was produced by Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor.
