Recording Artist Wayne J has a different perspective on life. The former child star created a wave for a number of years thanks to catchy singles, but his upbringing brought on a different way of life for him. He shares a few words in the video for the new track, “Pain“.

Directed by St. Errol, Wayne J lets listeners in on his experiences and state of mind as a young man growing up in the Ghetto, and dealing with those who do all manner of things in attempts to undermine him while he seeks success. When people think life is easier there, he gives you his perspective, and what he has to go through there. This is the reality for many, and Wayne is just using his platform to amplify their experiences over production by Greatest Records/King Tucker Entertainment.

Wayne J looks to stay consistent with the music, and he is currently working on a new project that should see a 2024 release. Check out some of his previous releases including his collaboration with Blvk H3ro here.

Dancehall Artist Shane O knows all about this, and fresh off his Reggae Sumfest performance, he debuts the new video for the single, “My Last“.

Directed by KD Visualz, Shane O has had it with the wickedness mankind continues to display. The video finds him saving someone from being poisoned by a friend, and he shares his frustration throughout the Feel Good Boss Music production until he reached a boiling point in the end. The world is crazy, and filled with demons of various kinds. Look beneath the fake smiles, and stay protected.

OLDIES SUNDAY: RDX – Bend Ova (2009)

When it comes to music during the Summertime in Jamaica, there was a certain type of music that would ensure the party was successful. There was the “Daggering” era that was filled with hits from some of your favourite Artists. This duo in particular had the era on lock with tune after tune, and they go by the names Delomar and Renigad a.k.a. RDX. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection from them is the single, “Bend Ova“.

Produced by Chad Simpson a.k.a. Dancehall Artist Mr. G on the “Wibble Wobble Riddim” and released through Young Blood label in 2009, RDX’s “Bend Ova” was a song that had one mission: to make the ladies DANCE! With the duo’s commanding lyrics, the intense energy throughout, and a Riddim that got things going, “Bend Ova” was made to cause a scene. The “Daggering” era was filled with sexual energy, and “Bend Ova” was one of the anthems as it instantly became one of the many hits for the Dancehall duo. The single was later released on various compilations, including the 2014 “Kotch EP“. “Bend Ova” also caught the attention of the Jamaica Broadcasting Commission who then banned the song, turning it into an even more popular song worldwide. Last year, it became a viral sensation on Social Media platform, TikTok that kicked off a challenge.

Since the release of “Bend Ova”, RDX went on to score more hits, and toured extensively. Unfortunately the duo parted ways in the late 2010s due to feuds, and as of last week, there’s no chance of them reuniting. RDX’s music is needed in the Dancehall scene that’s filled with “Choppa” songs, and many ladies have been unsuccessfully seeking alternatives to RDX. Let’s hope Delomar and Renigad really put things in the past, and get things going again.

 Trinibad Artist Boy Boy has been staying busy putting together and releasing new content over the past few months, and is not slowing down anytime soon. Still maintaining a following and his name being prominent locally and abroad, he has a lot more in store for the rest of the year. He makes his presence felt with the release of the “More Than 100” EP.

Featuring 4 tracks, Boy Boy is giving the fans a small dose of content to hold them over until a bigger project is ready. “Bufu“, a track featured on the EP, helped to start up the EP’s anticipation. He keeps it true to his brand with signature content, and with 23 Formation handling business, “More Than 100” will definitely go far. Backroad Gee is the only guest feature on the EP, and fans can look out for content in support of the EP.

It was gonna happen, and we’re glad it did. After taking over the place with his hit single “Talibans“, Byron Messia has been the talk of many towns. With arguably the hottest single of 2023, he has crossed over numerous markets, and various Artists (and AI) attempting remixes. With the week that Burna Boy has been having, it was only right that he officially released “Talibans II” with Messia.

Directed by 20K Visuals, Burna Boy and Byron Messia make the Nigeria x St. Kitts link up on “Talibans II”. They make for a great duo with their respective deliveries and lyrics, and we expect this one to do even more damage. The Artists are seen performing together with friends which include US Rapper Maxo Kream (who is from a Nigerian background), and UK Rapper Santan Dave (who also comes from a Nigerian background), and we see clips of Burna Boy’s birthday party that was held in Jamaica over the past weekend. We heard an AI version of Burna Boy performing “Talibans”, but his real version is even better. Get the guns ready.
