Yesterday, Entertainment giant Marvel unveiled the latest phase of their “Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)“. With plenty films and tv shows on the way, fans were looking forward to consume even more stories from their favourite Comics. The rollout included the announcement of the sequel to the popular “Black Panther” film called, “Wakanda Forever“. Announced in the form of a teaser, a familiar song was featured in its soundtrack.

For those familiar with Reggae (who wouldn’t at this point?), the lyrics from Bob Marley’s classic, “No Woman No Cry” was heard in the teaser for “Wakanda Forever”. Instead of Bob’s version, a cover by Nigerian star Tems was put in place. Throughout the over 2 minute teaser, Tems’ cover was played before being mixed into Rapper Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” single. “No Woman No Cry” was written by Bob Marley and Vincent Ford, produced by Chris Blackwell and The Wailers, and was featured on Marley’s 1974 album, “Natty Dread” with The Wailers. A live version of the single was released in 1975, and is considered one of the greatest songs ever made. The track was covered by many including The Fugees, Wizkid, Jimmy Cliff, and Sean Kingston.

“Black Panther” was released in 2018, and starred Chadwick Boseman, and Lupita Nyong’o among others. Boseman was set to reprise his role as the African superhero in the sequel, but passed away in 2020 after a long battle with Colon Cancer. “Black Pather: Wakanda Forever” will be released on October 11, 2022.

Bounty Killa & Prado Run Things On “As A Badman”!

The legendary Bounty Killa continues to uphold his role as a Dancehall Giant, even at 50 years old. Still influencing and providing a voice as an elder, it’s hard to find an Artist who isn’t seen as one of his kids, or grandkids. Come this Saturday (July 23), he will take the stage at one of Jamaica’s greatest musical events, Reggae Sumfest. Before that however, he needed to make a statement in the video for “As A Badman“.

On the Prado assisted single, Bounty Killa lists out the bullet points for what it takes to assume the role of a “Badman“, and calls out those who violate certain guidelines. Prado gives his points as well, and the duo make a great tune over a production that’s fit for a Gangsta. The accompanying Tinman (Swag TV Filmz) directed music video, we see a story play out of a badman who causes trouble in the community, but in the end gets a dose of his own medicine. ZJ Rush, Shane O, Predator, and Chronic Law make cameo appearances in the video, with the later playing a key role throughout.

Bounty Killa is also working on his upcoming “King Of Kingston” album that has well anticipated since its announcement a couple years ago. While the tracklist has gone through a few changes, Bounty is taking his time with what could be called his best body of work. US based Recording Artist Krys Evans is gearing up to add some hits to her growing catalogue this year, and beyond. She has been putting in the work behind the scenes, and she’s now ready to make her contribution to turning up the heat this Summer. Today, she released her latest single, “All Night“.

Released through JAHLEP Entertainment, Krys Evans teams up with Dancehall Artist Teejay on “All Night”. The new single is for the lovers, and those who wish to be closer to the one they love. In a time where being in love is not promoted as much, Krys and Teejay made a song that will find new love blooming for many, and those who have a history of love to continue making it better.

“’All Night’” is a fun record that speaks on intimacy and wanting to spend every waking moment with your lover. I wrote this record because no one talks about being in love anymore and how sweet it feels. Waking up next to someone you care about deeply makes you feel complete. I wanted to tap into that on this record,” shared Krys Evans. The collaboration shows two Artists who have great deliveries, and could be a sign of more music from them. “All Night” is the Dancehall follow up to Krys’ 2021 collaboration with Reggae/Dancehall legend Sizzla Kalonji called, “On Everything“.

For those unfamiliar with Krys Evans, she is a Singer, Songwriter, and Rapper, and has collaborated with Jim Jones, Murda Mook, and Loaded Lux. She released her debut album, “Resilient” in 2020, and looks to follow up in 2023.

The US based Artist has been playing around with different sounds, and tapping into different subject matter to see what her fanbase is feeling. While she took a break last month, she’s back to business this time a/round. With a project on the way, she is putting in the work to get her name out to more places. While many may think a Creative’s life is always on “Easy Mode“, Rhiya gets serious on her new single, “Heart Heavy“.

Produced by VoxGad Music, Rhiya Luna speaks on her troubles. While many would think life is all glamour for the Artist, there are days of doubt, depression, and negativity. Rhiya uses her platform to let it out, while listeners who are facing similar situations can relate. Bringing some chill vibes in music video form, “Zaza” teams D-Feezy up with Nigerian Artist Afrorolls and Bobby Kabre, and you can’t help but roll up something nice to the track. Dancehall Artist Skillibeng continues to show that his spot in Dancehall was not a mistake. Taking his talents to new markets, he has gotten his name in various parts of the US, resulting in more bookings and collaborations. Outside the US, Skillibeng has been doing damage, on Social Media, he is a viral sensation thanks to tracks including “Whap Whap” and “Blessing Me“, a collaboration with UK/US based Producer Mura Masa, and British Rapper Pa Salieu. Today, we present to you the official music video for the latter.

Directed by Emmanuel Cossu, the video for “Blessing Me” is done in a retro style with the addition of various backdrops, beautiful Women, and the featured Artists. Skillibeng is the standout here, and his contribution pairs well with Pa Salieu’s vibe, and Mura Masa’s easy-going production. Skillibeng continues to surprise (and upset) many, and we look forward to see what’s next for him. Maybe we hear him on a few more Mura Masa beats in the future. Proverbs 5:18.
