.@KingCruff Takes His Music To New Levels With @RunkusInno-Featured, “FallBack”

2023 was the warmup for King Cruff, and 2024 will be the championship round! After scoring big with the StoneBwoy and Jag.Huligan-featured “SHEDOENEED, Cruff has become quite the commodity in the months that followed. From Interviews to live performances, things have climbed a few levels in the months that followed. The Tuff Gong Collective/UMusic signee is charged up, so prepare to be thrilled with the release of, “Fallback“.

Teaming up with Recording Artist Runkus, King Cruff gives us “Heartbreak Dancehall” on “Fallback”. They deal with Women who love them like the seasons, and they deal with her accordingly. Over smooth production by Banx & Ranx, Runkus handles hook duties in his signature way while Cruff shares the saga. Great combination aside, the track is accompanied by music video directed by Kit Weyman, and it gives us the feeling of a Horror movie (Think Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, but shot in Jamaica). The video not only features the Artists, but the beautiful leading ladies Roginea Dixon, Annaje, and Smiles Buchanan, and parts of Jamaica including the famous Bob Marley Beach (Which has been included in a series of topics and petitions where it needs to be protected, and allowed free public access). “Fallback” is expected to become one of the big hits for the year, and we expect it to become one that is widely loved on Social Media. If you still aren’t familiar with King Cruff, look here to get started.

Silk Boss Addresses The “Media” In New Video

Dancehall Artist Silk Boss has been the topic of discussion from various outlets over the years. When the songs don’t connect with some, they jeer him. When it comes to his personal life or public battles, he’s the punchline of all jokes, and the topic of many negative Social Media posts and comments. He has had enough, and he uses the music to address the detractors in, “Media“.

Directed by KD Visuals, Silk Boss speaks his mind to the public in “Media”. Done in the style of the “Let’s Be Honest Podcast” (called “Just Being Honest”) couch Interview, Silk shares with the host his frustrations of being a target for public scrutiny, but is determined to keep living his life despite what people have to say. As an Artist, Silk Boss has some solid tracks, outside of the music, he has been involved in a few things, and has been accused of even more things. We hope he tries to get things in good order, and focus on the important things so he doesn’t get called out by the public.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Lasana Bandelé – Living In Shacks (1987)

February is recognized as “Black History Month“. The month reflects on the plights of Black people, and celebrates the achievements and innovations by them. It is also recognized as “Reggae Month“, celebrating the global impact the genre has over the past few decades, and will have for generations to come. For today’s “Oldies Sunday” selection, we highlight a musical figure who used his voice to shed light on the struggles his people faced, seeking for better ways. His name is Lasana Bandelé, and the track is called, “Living In Shacks“.

Arranged by Lasana Bandelé and Leebert “Gibby” Morrison and released through Storitela Music in 1987, “Living In Shacks” finds Bandelé doing some Social Commentary. He looks at the destitute conditions many are living in and what they have experienced for centuries,  and calling out those who can help but are caught up in vanity and corruption. Bandelé’s song came with powerful words, and at a time when Black people around the world faced great hardship. “Living In Shacks” earned its respect shortly after its release, and it connected with many around the world thanks to its lyrical content. The song was included in Bandelé’s “Storitela” album that was released in 1989. The music video for “Living In Shacks”, directed by Phase 3 and Dermot Hussey, was premiered on JBC TV (now Television Jamaica/TVJ) as a part of Lasana Bandelé’s “The Storitela” TV Special, and was aired regularly.

Since the release of “Living In Shacks”, Lasana Bandelé continued to share his powerful content over the years. From Poetry to Filmmaking, Bandelé made his voice be heard, and messages connect to many locally and Internationally.

.@Bakersteez Turns Up In “Bohemian Whip”

Jamaican Rapper Bakersteez is on different mission since returning from a widely-known Social Media meltdown recently. He shared a collaboration with Skillibeng and ScaleBaby titled, “R U 4 God? YK Now?“, and it looks to take on life outside of the track. Some may believe it’s the title of a new project, but only time will tell. It has appeared again in his new video, “Bohemian Whip“.

Taking it to the streets, Bakersteez gets extra aggressive on “Bohemian Whip”. The track is backed by some Jersey Club Remix-influenced production, and Steez shows that he’s in his element here, and it’s on sight for those he has a problem with. Posted up at a Gas Station, Steez is joined by a few friends including popular Car enthusiast Nick Lue, and this is just the beginning of what’s to come with the Rapper. R U 4 God? Stay tuned for the next episode.
