Nigy Boy Will Forever Love The Ladies, Even As An “Old Gyalis”

Dancehall Singjay Nigy Boy has been enjoying 2024 like never before. From hit singles, to being a double major graduate, to receiving honours from numerous officials and Institutions, a lot has been going on for him. One thing though, he has been scoring high with the ladies, securing the title of “Casanova“. For his latest release, he promises to love the ladies until he’s old and grey in “Old Gyalis“.

Produced by Massive B, Nigy Boy shares his gyalis philosophy in “Old Gyalis”. He shares that while he is young, loving the ladies is easy, and it will continue that way in his old age. From the club to the Nursing Home, he will always make room for the ladies, and give them what they require of him. He emphasizes his philosophy with the Now or Never-directed Music Video, and it’s a party in the Nursing Home when Nigy is around. He has the Grandmas catering to him, and he’s entertaining the whole room. With his selection of gyalis tunes all year, it’s safe to say he will be dominating in 2025. The Grandpa Gyalis has spoken.

M3gga MAC Shares Updates On Upcoming “Yaad Man” Mobile Game

Earlier this year, Youtuber/Software Developer M3gga MAC announced that he would be creating his first official Mobile Game called, “Yaad Man“. The game would feature assets that resonate with Jamaican/Caribbean culture, and aims to become a homegrown development that puts the gaming spotlight on the Island. Since the announcement, there has been an influx of support for the upcoming game, and many have shown interest in our Article about it, and MAC’s Social Media platforms. With the game far from being complete, he has been sharing a few updates, and answering questions from those interested.

For those new here, “Yaad Man” is an open Mobile Game that has elements of an RPG with 3rd person combat and quests. Taking to the TikTok platform, M3gga MAC has been sharing live gameplay, highlighting character development, special items, familiar Jamaican Geography, and taking suggestions. For those who are interested in being a Tester of the game, MAC is inviting a select few to be a part of the program. The game will be released on iOS and Android platforms, but the testing phase is currently open to Android users, and they can reach out on Instagram at @YaadManMobile. We’re looking at a mid-2025 launch for “Yaad Man” if MAC gets it right, stay tuned for more updates.

Flippa Moggela Calls Out Broke Dons In “Wah Gwaan Bout Yah Man”

There are people with money, and then there’s Flippa Moggela. The self-proclaimed “Flossing King” has solidified his place in Jamaican music as one of the richest Dancehall Artists, and his catalogue of “Flossing Music” along with his flashy lifestyle showed people that he could back up his many statements. He had a run in the mid to late 2000s before doing some time behind music. Now enjoying freedom, he’s determined to get his career back to the level of prominence, and has been busy with new music and live performances. Recently, he called out a few fakes in “Wah Gwaan Bout Yah Man“.

Produced by DJ Mac/Flip Money Records, Flippa Moggela gets at fake flossers in “Wah Gwaan Bout Yah Man”. In true “Flossing King” fashion, he stays distant from the “Broke Dons“, and calls out those who like to talk a good game, but their pockets are suffering. The music video following the single features appearances by Dancehall personalities/Entertainers Big Wayne and Walk and Talk, and Flippa is see showing off the riches in various areas, while others are playing pretend in the streets. Good to see Flippa staying active in music in the 2020s after doing some time, let’s see what’s next for him as he builds back his Flossing Empire.

OLDIES SUNDAY: The Abyssinians – Satta Amassa Gana (1971)

There are classics, and then there are CLASSICS. On “Oldies Sunday“, we highlight plenty of songs that hold a high place in the History books. For today’s selection, we highlight Roots Reggae group The Abyssinians, and their single, “Satta Amassa Gana“.

Self-produced and released through Clinch Records in 1971, The Abyssinians deliver a song that connects on a deep level with “Satta Amassa Gana”. The song promotes consciousness, spirituality, and aims to unite the people. The title, which means “He gave praise/Give thanks” in Amharic, was almost shelved. Recorded in 1969 at Studio One with the original title “Far, Far Away“, the owner “Sir Coxsone” Dodd didn’t believe it was good enough for release through his label. The group didn’t let that deter them, and they officially released it under a new title 2 years later through their own label. The song would take off quickly in Jamaica, and gave the group notoriety throughout and outside the Island. The song would be featured on their debut album “Satta Massagana” in 1976, an album that many consider a classic Roots Reggae project. “Satta” would go on to be covered a number of times by The Abyssinians, Don Carlos, Tommy Tornado, and most notably, Third World for their self-titled debut album. The song would also be sampled by Jackie Mittoo, Sizzla, Capleton, Shabba Ranks, Isaac Maya, and I Wayne. It would also be adopted by Rastafarian groups as a hymn to be performed during services, and various versions of it were made.

Since the release of “Satta Amassa Gana”, The Abyssinians, consisting of Bernard Collins, and the Manning brothers Donald, Carlton, and Lynford, would enjoy a number of years touring, recording, and releasing music before splitting up, reuniting with different versions of the group, and reuniting with the original lineup over the years. “Satta Amassa Gana” remains a classic, and is revered by many.

Life has its share of challenges, and he’s navigating through it in the best way that he can, even when it seems like the odds are against him. From fake friends, to dangerous situations, to moments that tests his faith, he has a drive to see success through, and he’s not letting anything stop him. The song provides motivation for the listener, and Tatik delivers it with melodies paired with good production. Some may see him as an underrated act, but he has ambitions to get to the top, and solidify his place as a legend. He continues to keep his focus sharp.

Producer/Recording Artist Iotosh has been putting in the work. From his early years producing for a number of upcoming Recording Artists, he has always ensured that he stood out with his sound. Catching the attention of big names like Protoje, things started to elevate for his career, and he became a go to Producer over time. When he started putting his vocals and lyrics to his beats, things got very interesting, and soon he was holding his own with some of his peers. His dedication to the music has paid off in a number of ways for him, and he has not reached his final form. However, he celebrates the milestone of a debut project in the form of an EP called, “For The People“.

Featuring 8 tracks, Iotosh stands tall as a future legend with his “For The People” EP. Packed with conscious themes, songs reflecting on real life situations, and a showcase of skilled songwriting, Iotosh shows growth with his debut. The EP is the result of a great deal of development behind the scenes paired with having success over time, and this is the beginning of even more greatness from him. Released through his Sound Ting imprint, the EP boasts a variety of different sounds, strengthening Tosh’s production prowess.
