In case you didn’t know, Sean Paul is back with a brand new album called, “Scorcha“! The follow up to the GRAMMY nominated “Live N Livin” album, Sean is on a path to take over the International market once again with his brand of Dancehall music. With a few singles out for the just released album, Sean boasts a few prominent features on there, including Shenseea and Gwen Stefani as they join him on the track, “Light My Fire“.

Produced by Jigzag, KooolKojak and AC, Sean Paul takes care of raising the temperature for the ladies on Light My Fire”. Over a production that taps into some old school sounds, you might find yourself skanking, or slow wining with your partner to this. Produced by Young Beats Instrumental and featuring R&B Singer Laya, Hibikilla delivers bilingual lyrics on “Risin’ To The Top”, with a vibe that you can’t ignore. Laya provides some smooth vocals, and with Young Beats’ production, this track is one you can dance to (and maybe teach yourself some Japanese as well). Jamaica’s Kxrly Miyagi was responsible for the single’s artwork, and the single’s animated Music Video was done by Japanese Illustrator, MURASAKI.

US based Singer Rhiya Luna is back with new music! On a mission to release a new track every month, she has been doing well so far with the single, “More Your Type“. Like a storybook, the next page reveals for, and the new track “Hey Stranger” does just that.

Produced by VoxGad Music, Rhiya Luna finds herself checking up on an old flame on “Hey Stranger”. While she showed confidence that she can get her ex anytime in her previous effort, “Hey Stranger” is her version of the “Hey big head” text. We have all at some point checked up on the ex to see if the feelings are still there, Rhiya just plays it out in song. Expect more music from Rhiya in the coming weeks!

Greetings! How about a throwback? Today, we celebrate the birthday of a Jamaican Music Icon, and his name is Jimmy Riley! Today, we go back in time to check out his track, “Tell The Youths The Truth“!

The self produced track was released in 1978 through the High Note label in Jamaica, and in the UK through Trojan Records. On the track, Jimmy Riley spreads a message that everyone should be conscious of where they’re coming from, be proud of their roots, and call out those who choose to hide the knowledge. “Tell The Youths The Truth” was a hit for Jimmy Riley, and became one of his memorable singles. The track was featured on his 1978 album of the same name. Prior to his solo career, he was a member of The Sensations and The Uniques, and has worked with Bunny “Striker” Lee, and Sly & Robbie.

Since the release of “Tell The Youths The Truth”, Jimmy Riley scored more hits as a solo Artist, and assisted in developing the career of his son Tarrus. Jimmy Riley transitioned to the big dance session in the sky in 2016, and has left behind a legacy that will inspire many.

Wayne Wonder’s “No Letting Go” Featured In New @AtlantaFX Episode!

It’s Friday, and we hope you’re getting a much needed break this weekend. Watched anything good this week? Familiar with the series, “Atlanta“? For 3 seasons it has been hailed as one of the best things to watch on Cable. Starring Recording Artist/Actor/Comedian Donald Glover, this season has been getting mixed reviews, but it’s overall a great watch. This season showed off a lil Caribbean vibe, and for its season finale, a Dancehall classic was featured.

Wayne Wonder’s 2002 hit, “No Letting Go” was featured in episode 10 of the series, “Atlanta”. Produced by Steven “Lenky” Marsden on the “Diwali Riddim“, this track helped to make Wayne Wonder a permanent fixture in the International Dancehall scene. The track was remixed by LL Cool J, and has been sampled by the likes of Akon, Tory Lanez, Kranium, and De La Ghetto.

“Atlanta” is now airing on FX.

Social Media has immensely helped with breaking new Artists over the years. No matter the genre, there has been an Artist who can credit Social Media for giving them an audience, and a successful career. Manchester (🇯🇲) based upcoming Recording Artist 1Biggs Don is another one who has been enjoying some buzz thanks to a Freestyle that went viral. Today, we get the official release of “Bwoii Affi (Watch Eh Style)“.

Released through Outta Space Records, 1Biggs Don grabbed the opportunity to capitalize on being a viral sensation. “Bwoii Affi” was originally freestyled on season 3 (episode 6) of the OTP Control Youtube series, “Jamaica Public Freestyle“, and since then it has been everywhere from Jamaica celebrities using the “Bwoii Affi” sound in their Instagram Reels and TikTok videos, to NFT Platform Opensea using it for their TikTok videos. 1Biggs Don has been releasing singles for a while, but “Bwoii Affi” caused a viral storm for him. We wish him all the best in his music career, and we hope he has the right team to propel his career to further success.
