On April 11, the world lost another legend. The news of Reggae Icon Max Romeo’s passing was definitely a shock to many, and tributes were quickly made public. Since the 1960s, Romeo defined an era where he delivered songs that stood out from the pack, with lyrics that have inspired generations of Artists, and caused bans and censorships. He became a dominant force, and he never backed down from whatever or whoever stood in the way. He is a legend, will be missed by many, and his legacy will be carried on by his children, and those who have joined his movement. We pay tribute to him with our latest Playlist, “Sampling Max Romeo“.
Featuring a few tracks, we showcase not only some of Max Romeo’s works, but Artists in Hip Hop, Pop, EDM, and Reggae who have sampled his music on the “Sampling Max Romeo” Playlist. Many of us know Jay Z’s “Lucifer” that sampled “Chase The Devil“, but we’re using this time to highlight even more.
