.@ShenYeng’s “Pon Mi” Lives Different Lives On TikTok!

Over the past few months, users of the Social Media platform TikTok would hear the following opening line from various videos in their feeds, “P***y tight, p***y clean, p***y fresh…“. The song behind that is Dancehall Artist Shenseea’s 2018 single, “Pon Mi“. Produced by Dunw3ll, the single was an instant hit for the “ShenYeng” Artist, and it showed on streaming platforms Youtube, Apple Music, and Spotify. The original song was also loved on Instagram, but when it crossed over to TikTok, it became a different monster.

When “Pon Mi” made its debut on TikTok, the song would be used in dance videos, “fresh out the shower” selfie videos, and was even heavily used in Dog TikToker MisterMainer clips. Over the past few weeks, “Pon Mi” would enjoy a series of remixes that would make Romeich shed tears. Thanks to various Producers (including Ranvision) and DJs, “Pon Mi” was given Classical Music remixes, EDM remixes, 70s Pop remixes, Country Music remixes, K-Pop remixes, Hip Hop remixes, and just about any style you can think of. If we can predict it just a lil bit, the popularity of Shenseea’s “Pon Mi” may reflect exponentially in the streams, making it one of her most popular singles ever. With TikTok becoming the hot platform for Artists to gain major exposure, for old songs to get a new life, and for new hits to be made, we’re curious to see what will happen next.

The Steve Rawd produced single has been gaining extensive traction thanks to a “Big Boy Challenge” hosted by Heph on Instagram, and has been earning a few prominent spots on Billboard, iTunes, and on various Playlists around the world. Capitalizing off of the buzz and setting up for a “Heph B Summer“, Heph B unleashes the music video for “Big Boy“.

Directed by Foreign Boy Films, Heph B is spending money, rolling in luxury, and is surrounded by friends and family in his latest music video. With the success Heph has been enjoying, it’s only right that he moves like a King for “Big Boy”, and bring along the people who are closest to him. Whether he’s popping bottles, scoring wins at the Casino, or even putting on some dance moves for the world to follow, Heph B is celebrating life, and enjoying it in the best way he can.

Dancehall Artist Masicka is still doing numbers with his 2021 debut album, “438“. With fans still showing appreciation on Social Media, it’s no surprise that some of the tracks have gone on to become viral hits. One of the tracks that took off was the Stefflon Don assisted single, “Moments“. It has gained popularity on TikTok and Instagram Reels, and fans were eager for a music video for this one. Recently, Stefflon Don took a short trip to Jamaica, and today you will see the result of that trip. Here is the music video for “Moments”.

Directed by RD Studios, Masicka and Stefflon Don display some intimacy throughout the “Moments” clip. With Masicka following clues to meet Steff in a room, we get to see them get cozy, and of course perform the track together. Viewers will say they make a nice couple onscreen, while some may wish they were in Masicka or Stefflon’s place. Emerging Dancehall Recording Artist 450 has been having an outstanding 2022 that saw him crossing off a few milestones in his career, with fans looking forward to what he will embark on next. He started the year with his first International booking, and has been making appearances at various locations locally and Internationally over the past few months to rave reviews. 450 also shared the stage recently with a few prominent Dancehall Artists including Alkaline, Mavado, and the legendary Wayne Wonder at Alkaline’s “New Rules” festival. With the summer approaching fast, 450 is elevating his catalogue further with the release of the single, “Know Weh Ya Do”.

Produced by Week.day of Tru Ambassador Entertainment, 450 shares that he lives a cautious life when it comes to dealing with people. His lyrics speak on him being wary to share his energy with anyone, and for those who are negative in character, they need to stay far from him. He also points out how people can be fleeting and relationships and friendships are not what they used to be, so he encourages listeners to know what they are doing in their everyday networking. 450’s “Know Weh Ya Do” follows up his “2 Face” single, which went viral on Instagram and TikTok earlier this year, his “Gyal Tief” music video which recently surpassed 1 Million views on Youtube, and the “Be Honest” music video, that has quickly gained him more female fans from around the world.

450 looks to make another major move this year as he is set to perform at the world famous Reggae Sumfest in July at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay. It’s the month of June! For many, it’s considered a Wedding month, as many couples chose this month to jump the broom, get hitched, and make an honest partner out of each other. We’ve highlighted a few Wedding themed songs on Oldies Sunday, and today we give you another. Today’s selection comes from Junior Sledge with the track, “Be My Bride“.

Produced by George “Photographer” Lemon, “Be My Bride” was released in 1986 through the Photographer Label. On the track, Junior Sledge tells the lady in his life that she will be his Wife. He lists some of the many ways he feels about her, and makes the case that she will be his Bridge. Sledge delivers his track with some melodies over a Dancehall production. “Be My Bride” was a part of the “Photographer In a Dancehall” compilation that featured tracks with Admiral Bailey, Carl Meeks, Anthony Red Rose, and others. Produced by EastKings Records and featuring Recording Artist Imeru Tafari, son of Reggae Artist Queen Ifrica, Bugle shares a few words of caution for his listeners.
