With the Chikungunya Virus spreading like wild fire in Jamaica, it has knocked many off their feet and not in a good way. In the Dancehall culture, artists usually take a popular topic and turn it in a song. One of those artists is 11 year old Wayne J with his “Chikungunya Song“. Performing it on Onstage and assisted by dancers, he later revealed that he and his family have also contracted the virus. A popular song on the radio and Internet, the doors have also opened for other acts to follow. I wish Wayne J and his family a speedy recovery and to the readers, stay safe from “Chik V”.
