After 15 Years, @KabakaPyramid Follows Up “Rebel Music” With “The Lyrics Tape”

When it comes to lyricism in Reggae, one of those names you can’t write off, is Kabaka Pyramid. A student of Reggae, Dancehall, and Hip Hop, he has delivered powerful music with potent flows, and maintained a stance that lyricism is very important in the culture. He has sparred with the best of them, and his journey continues. The GRAMMY-winning Artist’s rise started with the help of an EP called, “Rebel Music“. Years later, he revisits that time with a new project called, “The Lyrics Tape“.

Featuring 10 tracks, Kabaka Pyramid brings 2011 into 2026 with the follow up to his “Rebel Music” EP called, “The Lyrics Tape”. With closer to 20 years in, he is still as sharp as ever, and the track selection showcases his growth over the years. Kabaka handles some of the production on the project along with Fatbabs and Jazzwad, while Pressure Busspipe and vocals from the late Peter Tosh show up. Having a lengthy music career is no easy feat, and Kabaka Pyramid has proven he’s here for the long haul. Accurate!

Groove With @OfficialYaksta “Pon Di Island”

Recording Artist Yaksta celebrated his birthday this week, and with the new year comes new opportunities, and content. Having maintained some consistency this year, his numbers continue to grow, along with his catalogue. A few days ago, he shared the new single, “Pon Di Island“. Earlier, he shared the official music video.

Directed by Xtreme Arts, Yaksta gets everyone grooving in “Pon Di Island”. Whether he’s at a street dance with his people, chilling at the beach with a lovely lady, or dancing in the streets with a few Jonkonnu performers, the vibes can’t cease with the “Bush Lawd“. “Pon Di Island” was produced by Kabaka Pyramid, and released through Bebble Rock Music. Fans of Yaksta can look forward to him performing in a town near you in the coming days, and he is still putting in work on his sophomore album, which is set to be released in 2025. Rock and groove to this.

It’s “Crunch Time” for the Hip Hop “Supergroup“, The Council (Five Steez, Nomad Carlos, The Sickest Drama, Inztinkz) as their debut Album’s release comes sooner than you think. Teaming up with Kabaka Pyramid, Koro Fyah, and Massy The Creator, they unleashed their 5th single titled, “Misery“. With Inztinkz handling the boards, the Artists offer some social commentary as they detail the conditions faced in Jamaica and how frustrating it can be to the point leaving the Island could be an option. In a society where the blind is leading the blind, and the system barring out those who can make a difference, it really is dread out here. As Heroes’ Day comes to a close, remember that today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the “Present“. With that said, Koro Fyah is here with a new song to let listeners know it’s a “New Day“. Produced by Kabaka Pyramid, Koro gives thanks to the almighty for another day of life and encourages others to do the same.
