After teaming up some time ago, one of Hip Hop’s greatest Rappers, LL Cool J and the Gully God, Mavado drop the visual to “The Hustler“. Directed by Benny Boom and shot in New York, we hear the artists speak on the street life while we witness see some of the activities that happen in the New York streets. While some may see it as an odd combination, I like that Mavado got a chance to work with one of Hip Hop’s elite artists. LL Cool J’s new album will hit the streets very soon. Always remember where you came from. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Fresh off some gigs overseas, Kabaka Pyramid has come a long way and captured many with the good music he creates. Tonight on Onstage he had a conversation with Winford Williams. Here he spoke on his background, his experiences travelling and performing overseas, being a part of the new Reggae movement, fighting the good fight, and his upcoming performance at Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records. One thing with Kabaka, interview or no interview, you can have great conversations with him. One of the artists I respect, I hope many get to attend the upcoming event. Being one of the popular DJs on one of the Island’s biggest radio stations, ZJ Liquid has pleased listeners and party patrons worldwide. With him being involved in the IKon radio tower saga, he visited the Onstage to speak on it and more. Here he recalled the story on IKon’s actions and what he thinks will result out of it, being granted the opportunities to DJ on BET’s 106 & Park, being a producer, his Good Book Riddim and the artists featured on it, and future plans. Short but a good Interview, he gave some good points and I hope new artists don’t try to pull the same stunts. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
With dancing being a huge staple in Dancehall music, many songs have been created to accompany many of them. Ding Dong is no different as he’s one of the few to fuse those together. Accompanied by his Ravers Clavers Crew members, tonight on Onstage he spoke with Winford Williams about this and more. Topics he covered included the Dancehall dance movement here and overseas, his single “Syvah” and its popularity, and in the end performed his hit single and performed the “Syvah” and “Well Shampoo” dances. Not a bad segment here, with “Syvah” burning up the airwaves and the streets, I look forward to more dancing songs and dances to match. It’s been a while since J Yungg has graced the blog and today he drops a new song. Titled “Rich Enemies“, he speaks on friends who have turned their backs on him after they’ve achieved some success. He also pointed out the times where they all suffered together and they can’t even say hello to one another. A good effort here as he speaks on a topic that many can relate to. There are people who know when things were rough but the second they’ve achieved a better life they forget those who were there for them. Looking forward to more music from J Yungg.
