The “World Boss” is really living up his role as one of the hardest working Deejays despite his current situation. Earlier, the good folks at Major Lazer unleashed a special remix of the Nicki Minaj and PartyNextDoor featured “Run Up” with vocals from Vybz Kartel! Kicking it off with “Gaza Nation!“, Kartel goes into overdrive as he gives the ladies the lyrics that will have them clinging on to him like magnet to steel. He also made reference to having fun at the popular Summer Party series, Dream Weekend. A single that has had its share of remixes (including a Konshens Remix, and one by Dancehall Artist Khxos), but of course a Vybz Kartel version will make its rounds in various parties. Mi chain have so much Karat (Carrot), like me murda Bugs Bunny! Listen to the track below.
First he let you “Syvah” with him, then “Shampoo” all over the dance floor, but what does Ding Dong have next in store? “Press Gas” as tonight on Onstage he revealed all to Winford Williams. Here he spoke about the success of his singles and dances, his performances at events like Reggae Sumfest and Dream Weekend, defying the odds when he recorded on the “Happy Hour Riddim” months after its release with “Lowe Me Nuh“, being a part of Corporate Jamaica, making it his objective to bring back dancing to Dancehall, the “Gas” trend and its popularity, and his upcoming birthday party. Ding Dong also took over the stage and performed “Gas” and of course dance with his Ravers Clavers crew. The dancing King is here and we look forward to more hits. The invite promised the unveiling of “A match made in heaven where dreams come true” and @twentythree at J. Wray & Nephew’s Head Office served as the perfect backdrop to do just that. As you walked through the doors of the 23 Dominica Drive venue you sensed that you were about to witness “Something truly special” unfold before your very eyes. Media representatives and some of Kingston’s social, corporate and music influencers witnessed the truly special union of J. Wray & Nephew’s Appleton Rum Special and Jamaica’s premier summer getaway Dream Weekend. The official contract was signed by J. Wray & Nephew Marketing Manager Gary Dixon and Dream Entertainment Director Scott Dunn.
This year’s staging of the event will be dubbed “Appleton Special Dream Weekend: Rum Rules Paradise“. Below are some photos from the event, more will be featured on Facebook.com/13thStreetPromotions. Many thanks for the invitation and many thanks to Shana Reid for her contribution. Check out her Lifestyle Blog, ShannyDeLioness.Blogspot.com!
With a few years cemented in his musical career, Agent Sasco has managed to keep himself and his music consistent. With a potent flow and lyrics that command respect, he has touched on serious issues and has also managed to keep his audience moving. Tonight on Onstage he had a chat with Winford Williams to discuss his career and more. He spoke about his recent performances at Reggae Sumfest and Dream Weekend, exercising and developing his career, his work on Kanye West’s “Yeezus” album and how it came about, his new project and going back to the fundamentals of Dancehall, not following certain trends, remaining true to himself and more. He also premiered the music video for “Settle and Cease“. Sasco has been one of the artists whose career I’ve respected over the years and to me he can do no wrong.
