Smiiley YS Is All About Getting The “Euro”

When it comes to hustling, it’s all about Dollars and Cents. Anything outside of that doesn’t make sense. However you earn your bread is up to you as you ensure that things are taken care of. Upcoming Montego Bay-based Dancehall Artist Smiiley YS knows the importance of that, and he utilizes the means that are provided to get his. He steps out with the video for his new single, “Euro“.

“Euro” was done on the “Chakka Riddim” which was produced by DJ Mac/Crash Dummy and released through Young Step Music (Mixed by Tip God Music), Smiiley YS is all about getting to the money by any means. To get to the level where you’re “stink with the money” is not an easy feat, but faith can move mountains, fill pockets, and keep Bank accounts happy. It may be a lot of work, but he shares some of the benefits that come with his success as well. “Euro” was released in the early part of April, and has been getting positive feedback since. He followed up with a Music Video that was directed by Divine Global Production, and it’s all about the money, the Women, and upgrades to the wardrobe. Many individuals come from impoverished areas with difficult upbringings, so when the opportunity to get rich is available, there’s no turning back as a better life to live is out there for them. Smiiley YS may be new to the scene for some, but he is working on becoming an overall better Artist, and one to pay attention to. Time to make money.

His music has been steadily gaining traction over the past few months, and he just needs the right track to catapult him into a major part of the music scene. His comedic efforts gained him widespread popularity on Social Media, but he’s ready to take on the streets with the new single, “Start Yet“.

Produced by Steel Chest, Prince Guava is getting to the big bucks in “Start Yet”. Money is always the motivator, and he’s using his means to get the dollars, and climb the financial ladders. With a Saii Media-directed video that was shot in Mandeville, Guava is ensuring he gets all his money. With the help of a few people including Twong City and Evy Royal, Guava collects his payments, but each person he collects from gets kidnapped right after. Nigerian Artist JoeBoy sheds some light on that in the visual for his new single, “Duffel Bag“.

Directed by Buhari Yesufu, JoeBoy’s “Duffel Bag” video is set on a dating show called, “Love & Faaji” where a beautiful Woman selects her ideal date to go home with. In order to win her heart, the contestants have to ensure that they’re not short in the Finance department, and the more money is being offered her way, the better the chances. Joeboy delivers with his signature lyrics and melody here, and he compliments the E Kelly and Timmy production well. “Duffel Bag” is a single off the upcoming “Body & Soul” sophomore album, which is set to be released later this year. Make sure you’re working towards your finances when you hear today’s Oldies Sunday selection. Today, we take a trip to the UK to check out Louise Gold and Michelle Charles a.k.a. Ragga/Soul duo Louchie Lou and Michie One’s “Rich Girl“.

Released through Fashion Records in 1993 (originally 1992 with Sly & Mafia’s “Riot” on the B Side) on the “Fever Pitch Riddim“, “Rich Girl” was Louchie Lou and Michie One’s debut single. The track was inspired by the 1964 track “If I Were A Rich Man” from the “Fiddler On The Roof” Musical. The track found Louchie and Michie sharing lyrics about getting out of Poverty and what they’d do if they were wealthy, but also share that no matter how much money they’d have, they’d never change who they truly are, and money can’t buy love and happiness. “Rich Girl” helped to get Louchie Lou and Michie One’s name out there, but wasn’t an instant hit for them.

Since the release of “Rich Girl”, they duo went on to find chart success, and release albums until they disbanded in 2000. In 2004, American Pop star Gwen Stefani and American Rapper Eve sampled “Rich Girl” for their single, “Rich Girl“, which was produced by Dr. Dre. It went on to become a multiplatinum success.
