Ai Milly Is Living It Up In New “Villa” Visual!

Dancehall Artist Ai Milly has been one of the more talked about Artists in the past few months. With his name gaining traction on Social Media, he has been releasing songs that quickly became favourites amongst younger listeners. TikTok has been one of the platforms that hugely supports his content, and he’s working his way up the Jamaican music ladder. His hard work has been yielding great rewards, and he enjoys it all in the video for the track, “Villa“.

Directed by Magnus Productions, Ai Milly finds himself living it up in Ocho Rios with a few friends, plenty money to go around, and of course the ladies. While he’s enjoying life on the North Coast, he is still getting to work, and making his money stack up. Trini Recording Artist Roy Simmons is no stranger to the music scene, but he has been consistently working on his craft, and growing his fanbase in the process. With only 3 years in, he has enjoyed heavy rotation on Radio, released an EP called “Pardon Me” that gained rave reviews, and he has made connections with some of the top names in Trinidad & Tobago. Still pushing the “Pardon Me” EP to new territories, he released the visual for a track off of the project called, “Come Thru“.

Directed by Pelham Goddard, “Come Thru” features GBM Nutron, and its something for the ladies. With Roy Simmons delivering smooth vocals and GBM dishing out some slick lines, “Come Thru” is one of the favourites off of the “Pardon Me” EP. The video provides a lil bit of a sexy vibe, but the twist at the end will have you rewatching it a few times. Roy Simmons looks to take his music to the next level, so get familiar with him today!

Brothers Chris and Santris, more popularly known as The Yutes, have been making their names connect in various parts of the globe, presenting a sound that aims to stand out from what you’re familiar with. You can say they’re genre-bending, and they are enjoying success from that. Currently finalizing their upcoming album, they keep things interesting with the video for the single, “Riches & Power“.

“Riches & Power” is a Cin-Trax produced collaboration with The Yutes and Dancehall Artist Govana, and together they let you know what they’re all about, getting to the money by any means. It’s a Ghetto yute’s dream to reap success and elevate from poverty, and the Artists amplify that in their music. With a music video directed by Shane Creative, the Artists highlight Spanish Town, the home of many who wish to break from the oppression. The video later finds them living it up on a Beachfront property, with some of the luxuries and benefits of success. The Yutes are the sons of Dancehall Artist Mr. Lexx, and they look to cover more ground with the release of their album later this year.

Today, we celebrate the Birthday of a Jamaican Music legend by the name of Elephant Man! For close to 30 years, Elephant Man has been giving you hits, brought an energy like no other, and has influenced many. For today’s Oldies Sunday selection, we highlight one of his dance hits, “Chaka Chaka Dance“!

Produced by Fire Links and released in 2004 on the “Chaka Chaka Riddim“, Elephant Man stepped out with a new song to promote the new dance called, “Chaka Chaka“. Having a knack for remixing popular songs and making them his own, Elephant Man borrowed the cadence from Eric “Monty” Morris’ “Sammy Dead” for “Chaka Chaka Dance”. With the line “Dance to di Riddim, Chaka Chaka…“, we were in for a fun time packed with high energy, and a workout. “Chaka Chaka Dance” was a hit for Elephant Man, appearing on charts in Jamaica and parts of the Caribbean. The single was further promoted with a Music Video directed by Llewellyn “BigDaddyLeo” O’Reggio, which was filmed during a staging of the weekly “Weddy Weddy” street dance event in Kingston, and featured many of the popular Jamaican Dancers.

Since the success of “Chaka Chaka”, Elephant Man continued to enjoy a more successful music career that is still very active. With a ton of hits to his name, “Chaka Chaka Dance” is high on the list for some.

Dancehall has always shed a light about the struggle, and the good times that people have experienced. Many practitioners of the genre have made songs that spoke about the everyday life, and what one can expect in them. For St. Thomas based Dancehall Artist Shaqstar, he uses it to speak about pain in “Drowning“.

With a video directed by Hot Spot Studios Cinematography, Shaqstar shares his pain and sorrow. Paired with his vices, Shaqstar shares that life isn’t easy, and he is tested everyday. Depression is real out there, and Shaqstar uses the music as a form of therapy, and many listeners will be able to relate to the lyrics. “Drowning” was produced by Blueface Records on the “Silence Riddim“. Shaqstar has been busy progressing thanks to release of his “Seaforth Son” EP, and he looks to make his name bigger over the course of time. The topic of Mental Health continues to grow in Jamaica, and we hope there will be more safe spaces and platforms for those who are fighting battles mentally. Take it a day at a time.

The topic of “Jacket” has been a prevalent one from practically the beginning of time. Jamaica has been one of the countries that ranks high where this is concerned, and it has gotten messy when Men discovered that the child or children they have been supporting for years, is not biologically theirs. While there have been various motives behind this, the “Jacket” dilemma is still in business. Dancehall Artist Shane O tackles the topic on “7 Jacket“.

Directed by KD Visualz, Shane O finds himself in a questionable situation in the video for “7 Jacket”. Surrounded by 7 children, he attempts to solve the mystery of the Woman he has been involved with has been deceiving him all this time. He starts to notice the features of the children belonging to Men around his way, and it has been causing a headache. Shane O gets witty on this track, and the video shows the reality of the Men who have been recipients of the “Jacket”. It’s a crazy world out there.
