It’s Business As Usual In Chxpz’s Visual For “Y Pree”

Dancehall Artist Chxpz was missing from the scene for a part of 2023. Despite the absence, his music continued to make connections however with new and old listeners. It’s a new year, and he’s back, and promises to be “actively active“. He starts things off with the video for the track, “Y Pree“.

Directed by Shvckwave Visuals, Chxpz is enjoying his moment in “Y Pree”. Surrounded by friends, it’s still business as usual, and the Deejay is back to take over everything. “Y Pree” was produced by MCE Records and CaadoBeatz, and the Deejay looks to flood the scene with even more music this year. 2022 was one of his standout years, and he’s taking things to another level this year. It’s a YC 2024.

Mortimer Delivers Another Hit For The Lovers With “Slowly”

No matter what’s going on in the world, Mortimer will step out with a love song. The Reggae Artist has been busy recording and performing in recent months, and even made appearances on records for other Artists. His “Lightning” single is still a song of choice for Weddings and celebrations of love, but for his new single “Slowly“, it will become a new addition to the soundtrack.

Produced by Winta James for Overstand Entertainment and released through Easy Star Records, Mortimer returns with a track that will bring the lovers out in “Slowly”. With his signature vocal delivery, the Singer shares lyrics about being the attentive partner who grants his lady’s wishes, she introducing him to a vibe like no other, placing him in a life filled with joy and love. Expect this one to be in heavy rotation leading up to Valentine’s Day, and become a permanent fixture after. Accompanying the new single is a brilliant video animated by one of Jamaica’s top Creatives, Ikem Smith. Mortimer doesn’t drop often, but when he does, it’s an event. This is for the lovers.

Chronic Law Protects His Luck On “Salt Gyal”

Have you ever been told to avoid certain places or persons, or doing certain things so you won’t receive bad luck? In Jamaica, an unlucky person would say they’re “Salt“, and would be suggested to bathe in a River to get back in a good place. For Dancehall Artist Chronic Law, an Artist who is notorious for avoiding people for other reasons, is now protecting his luck by avoiding a “Salt Gyal” in his new single.

Produced by DJ Mac and Crash Dummy on the “Chakka Riddim“, Chronic Law is not having it with a Woman who will bring him nothing but unlucky times in “Salt Gyal”. He shares his experience with meeting a Woman like that, and takes measures to avoid having his life turn upside down. The accompanying Music Video, directed by Dark Moon Cinema, finds DJ Mac getting caught in a few unlucky situations thanks to his lady friend. She has been compared to Lot’s Wife, and Mac is going to need more than a River bath to get rid of his bad luck. “Salt Gyal” was previewed on Social Media for a few days, and we’re glad it finally got the official release. With a video directed by BigBossRG, Shaneil Muir shows triumph in “Try Again”. Over Jiggy D production she shares her pain and challenges experienced, but lets listeners know that she’s getting stronger, and is overcoming them all one by one. The visual, shot overseas, shows her taking her trials to therapy sessions, but in end she’s seen in better places with a smile on her face. It’s dark, and things get interesting in the night. Dancehall Artist RajahWild has enjoyed a successful 2023, and with his increasing following and presence, he brings out more sides of him. The question is, are you ready? Check out his latest visual, “Monster“.

Directed by Ruppi for Now Or Never, RajahWild brings the horror in the video for, “Monster”. Over the Zimi Records/Now Or Never-produced track, the Deejay shares some of his dark side, his need to feed, and what can happen if you cross him, or let him see red. Shatta Wale Laughs All The Way To The Bank With “Balloon”

Shatta Wale is onto something here. While Artists and Producers are having squabbles online, the Ghanian Dancehall King is busy getting to the money with new music. He shows why he stands out from the rest with the new single, “Balloon“.

Released through Shatta Movement Records, Shatta Wale’s “Balloon” was first previewed on Social Media where it quickly gained popularity as a sound, sparking a dance challenge. What makes this track stand out apart from the NawtiboyTattoo, DJ Sama B, and Damaker-produced Amapiano sound, is the fact that Shatta only appears on the song through a few seconds of laughter throughout, and saying “Wounded dog” and “Nonsense“. The same can be said for the Rich Sheff-directed music video where we see a man in a suit walking through the streets, before collecting some money from Shatta Wale, who appears at the end of the video for a few seconds. We also get a dancing display put on by the Creative Team Dance Company throughout the visual. A once famous Rapper once said, “I could sell a Mill sayin’ nothin’ on a track“, and we now see Artists doing little to nothing on a track, laughing all the way to the Bank. Ha ha ha indeed.
