Since March 2025, we premiered a new weekly Playlist called, “What’s On 13th Street?“. Since then, we have featured over 800 new songs from Artists in and outside the Caribbean. Recently securing an International record deal, she looks to hit the scene with new music, and a new attitude. Her work didn’t go under the radar over the years, and now she’s ready for the big leagues. Just know this, when she steps out, it’s “Ova“.

Produced by Island Wav and released through Out Deh Records, Akina Eman is in hot gyal mode in, “Ova”. Recognizing her beauty, she knows she’ll shut it down when she enters the room. With smooth vocals, expect “Ova” to take over speakers in the coming weeks. Akina shows love to the stylish ones in a video directed by Jxsse Jxmes. Whether she’s in spandex, rocking high heels, and taking it to the 80s with her larger than life ‘fro, we get a visual that is sure to keep people watching. Live From His Hometown, @TheRoyalBlu Debuts His “Spain Root”

Royal Blu may seem like a simple Man with his calm demeanor, but underneath is an Artist who possesses powerful lyrics, and knows how to light that fire when he enters the booth. Formerly known as Blu Kid, the Spanish Town native has been perfecting his craft, and has built a movement that continues to witness his rise. He has performed with some of the best, and now he makes a big step in his career. He releases his debut album, “Spain Root“.

Featuring 14 tracks and released through Easy Star Records, “Spain Root” is Royal Blu’s dedication to his hometown. The project is some of Blu’s best work yet, and he covers a lot of ground here. Showcasing a display of great songwriting, a solid command of whatever production is thrown his way, and holding his own when collaborating with others. Production of “Spain Root” is handled by DelaGroove, J.L.L., RiddimBoss, ProdByRoss, The Autos, G.Wav, Paris Lamont, Mundo, Yo Christon, KaleX, and Cuco Fyah, while he shares the booth with Protoje, Runkus, D’Yani, Akina Eman, and Kabaka Pyramid. This album is for Jamaica, for the world, and Spanish Town of course.

Songbird Akina Eman returns to the scene with something special for her listeners. When it’s time for her to be creative, everything else is a non-factor, and she’s locked in until her work is done. She made some releases earlier this year, but now she has something packaged for you to enjoy. This gift, is called “Slumber Tapes“.

“Slumber Tapes” is Akina Eman’s latest EP, and she provides 5 tracks for the listener to get lost in. She still holds you hostage with her soothing vocals, and they take control of the lyrics she delivers throughout about love. Some will experience this project like embracing the warmth of someone who they’re deeply in love with, others will treat it like a pillow talk session that never ends. Production on “Slumber Tapes” is mainly handled by Kone, expect for one track by Kalex of Island Wav. No features here, just Akina live and direct for you. While outside is getting colder and darker, let this new EP provide some cozy comfort through it all.

There’s nothing better than getting new music, and invite your senses for this one. Recording Artist Royal Blu has been staying busy over the past few months. When he’s not keeping the Engineer busy with new recordings, he’s taking the stage to deliver fan favourites. While his releases aren’t as heavy as his peers, celebrations do happen when he steps out. Today, you can celebrate the release of the video for the single, “Cool“.

Over production by G.Wav, Royal Blu keeps his composure in, “Cool”. He makes a few observations on the track, stays ahead of his competitors and naysayers, and keeps them in check with a flow that is cooler than Devon House’s signature item, and a Lasko that just got cleaned. The video, directed by Recording Artist Akina Eman (with editing by Richie Bakez), finds Blu and a few of his friends being cool, in one of the cooler parts of Jamaica, and when he’s not performing the track, he’s getting his reps in, or securing the win in a game of Ludo. Shout out to Taj Francis as his Artwork can be seen on Blu’s sweatshirt, that is also pretty cool. They say listening to his music will improve your day, so we urge you to tune in to Royal Blu, and stay frío.

Recording Artist Akina Eman, who has been making lots of progress over the past few months, believes in a thing called love, and is not shy about expressing it to the one she loves. She shares with us her new single, “Proud“.

Produced by RiddimBoss and KaleX for Island.Wav, Akina Eman sings of the ways she caters to her lover in “Proud”. A believer in love languages and using love as a service, she speaks on being there in various ways. From listening to his thoughts, fulfilling his dreams and desires, and providing a safe space for their love to grow, Eman is all about love, and being in love. In a time where love has been transactional or fake and people being fickle, it’s good to have songs like these that show that there are people who believe in genuine connections, and all about making love stand the test of time with no ill intentions behind them.
