The Council Meets @Equiknoxx_Music On The “Trilogy” Project


Jamaican Hip Hop collective The Council a.k.a. The Council of the Gods returns with new music. Despite the pandemic putting a halt to many things, Five Steez, The Sickest Drama, and Nomad Carlos managed to fight through the blocks, and make something happen. Finally seeing an opening, they stepped out with their latest offering titled, “Trilogy“.

Featuring 8 tracks, The Council teamed up with the legendary Equiknoxx Music label. Production come from the minds of Time Cow, Son Raw, and Sawandi, and they present Dub, Jazz, and Electronica inspired beats to build a great vibe. The Council in true fashion stepped out with their usual lyrical abilities, and handled each beat like they’re supposed to. While every Dancehall and Reggae Artist got a chance to put out new music this year in the middle of the pandemic, Jamaican Hip Hop had to show up and make some noise. New York based Hip Hop Artist/Musician Warren Wint believes that time waits for no man. He also believes that he’s a god among men, and they cannot dictate his movements. Having gained a following and a tremendous buzz in recent times thanks to his appearance on Sha Money XL’s “Chain On The Bike Vol. 2” album through the track “Please” featuring Rain, Warren knew that his moment to shine was upon him. With everyone from Joe Budden, to Shani Kulture, to DJ Gatica showing him love, it was only right he stepped out with a body of work in return. That work comes in the form of his sophomore album, “Father’s Favorite”.

“Father’s Favorite” is the follow up to Warren Wint’s widely acclaimed debut album, “Quietaskept”, and promises to be an instant classic. Featuring 11 tracks, Warren drew inspiration from some of his life experiences, and taps into some great sounds to present an album that aims to connect with the listener in unique ways. He showcases an ability to switch up the flow, spit rewind worthy lyrics, and adapt to any production that was thrown his way. With production by Sha Money XL, OTB, Long Boy, Dreamlife, Othellobeats and V-Notes, the album’s DNA is laced with Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, and Pop influences, making the listener know right away that this no ordinary project. The album is nothing short of features, and Nathaniel The Great, BTW, Devo D, and DNA all superbly contributed to the project through guest appearances. As a part of the rollout for “Father’s Favorite”, “The Whole 9”, “Me”, “Strange”, and “L.I.O.N.” singles were promoted starting from early 2020. They have since gained thousands of streams, with 3 of the 4 singles having music videos to provide additional support.

A New York native, Warren Wint toiled his way up to becoming a prominent name in music. He has caught the attention of XXL, Hot 97, The Source, Billboard, Noisey, and VH1 among others with his cleverly crafted tracks, and a standout presence. He released his debut album, “Quietaskept” in 2018, and has since worked with some of the best in the business.

Sad One then makes the necessary moves to rectify Cuz’s situation, and viewers will see that Sad One is not the person to ramp with. Toronto’s heavy hitter DJ Blkluos is working hard to give the world new continue. Still keeping Heartbreak Quotey’s name alive, he has a lot more in the tank to deliver. One of his latest releases is the visual for his 2020 single, “Changes“.

The video finds DJ Blkluos getting into some bars as he makes various observations, and shares his thoughts over some dark Trap production provided by JXYMEFROMTHENINE. “Changes” was released as a part of a 3 pack in 2020 that included “I Thought About It“, and “Dead People“.
