OLDIES SUNDAY: Alaine – No Ordinary Love (2005)

Welcome to the month of June on “Oldies Sunday“! In some cultures, the month is a popular one for Weddings, and today we will highlight a song that has been a part of many Wedding playlists. We go back in time to check out Alaine’sNo Ordinary Love“.

Produced by Don Corleon Records on the “Seasons Riddim” and released in 2005, Alaine sings about the type of love that grows and sticks with you in, “No Ordinary Love”. She sings about all the good that comes from the love she’s experiencing, from the cozy moments, to the lovemaking, to security that comes with being with that special someone. “No Ordinary Love” quickly became the breakout single for Alaine, making her an Artist to watch. The “Seasons Riddim” was a popular release, and the single was one of the top played singles off of the compilation. “No Ordinary Love” would be later featured on her 2007 debut album, “Sacrifice“, and has become a favourite over the years during Valentine’s Day celebrations, and on Wedding days.

Since the release of “No Ordinary Love”, Alaine went on to become one of Jamaica’s most-loved Vocalists. She previously earned fame as a child star, but after leaving life in the corporate world to pursue music, she never looked back. She would release more music over the years, held her own as a music judge on Digicel’s Rising Stars, and continues to take her music to stages in parts of the world. “No Ordinary Love” is one of her most popular singles.

Jah Izrehl & Yaksta Call On The Government To “Fix D Road”

The people are upset, and they are tired of the foolishness. The ones who voted in are doing more for themselves than for the people, and it doesn’t matter which Political Party you vouch for. The cost of living is high, we can’t enjoy basic amenities, and many of us are looking for a better life elsewhere. Reggae Artist Jah Izrehl is fed up, and he speaks out in, “Fix D Road“.

Produced by Day One Productions/Speedy Judgement Productions and featuring Yaksta, Jah Izrehl has reached his boiling point with those in power on, “Fix D Road”. This is more than just putting asphalt on the pavement, it’s about putting the country in a position where the people can live better, can see that their votes matter, can live a life that’s abundant and crime-free, and be as happy as they say we are in the lists. The accompanying music video finds the Artists making observations during their travels, and in a very nice way tell the Government to do the right thing. We’re fed up, and if they can’t make the right move after hearing songs like these, the next move may be costly. Fix tings.

.@BlvkH3ro Promotes Healing With “New Life” Release

In this thing called life, it’s sometimes not what you’ve been through, it’s about how you move forward from it. Having dealt with his share of setbacks, Recording Artist Blvk H3ro makes each day better than the previous. From sickness, to deception, to various struggles, he perseveres, and channels the energy into his music for the world to enjoy. He moves forward with, “New Life“.

Produced by Aspekt Mafia, Blvk H3ro approaches the new day with a renewed focus, and an enhanced drive in, “New Life”. With lyrics that aim to motivate the listener, the new single comes at a time where many of us are facing seasons of darkness, where hope is dwindling, and better days seem farfetched. H3ro hopes the new single finds these people in the right moments to help them embrace the positivity, and step in the right light.
