A couple weeks ago, the legendary Beres Hammond gave the world nothing but that niceness with his “Love From A Distance” online concert. Serenading with the classics, he gave the audience even more when he brought Popcaan on stage to perform a new single called, “God Is Love“. While the single became available days later, today we get the visual for it.
Directed by Shane C. Brown, Rasheed Hammond, and Lauren Watkis, we see Popcaan and Beres Hammond build a vibe together with Shane C. Brown at the studio. We also get various highlights of their performance at the concert, and we witness a great pairing as Beres the elder and Poppy the young bwoy gave us a song that we will be enjoying for years to come. Is it too much to ask for a collaborative EP?

After being away from a Jamaican studio in years, Shabba Ranks got back to his roots and released a new single. Titled “Big Time” and produced by JukeBoxx Productions on the “Greatest Creation Riddim“, the veteran Deejay shows us that he has what it takes to still rock the microphone. He also tells us that he’s needed in Dancehall Music and will always “give it to dem” when he’s summoned. Many were delighted to hear Shabba pick up the microphone after hearing him on Rapper A$AP Ferg’s “Shabba (Remix)” so will this new single mean there’ll be more in store? Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Today’s new music comes from the SubKonshus CEO, Konshens. Titled “Don Daddy (SuperCat Style)” and produced by Shane Brown on the “Greatest Creation Riddim“, Konz pays tribute to Deejay SuperCat and his 20+ year old song, “Don Dada“. Konz borrowed a little of SuperCat’s flow over this production where he spoke about being a champion, his start in the music business, name drops his SubK team, and also shows respect to the foundation deejays like Lady Saw, Josey Wales, Bounty Killa and Shabba Ranks. Great effort here, It would be cool to hear a remix of this with the Don Dada himself. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
With recent reports of Romain Virgo splitting with his manager Shane Brown, the public has been wondering if it was an amicable split. Tonight on Onstage Romain addressed all that and more. Here he spoke about the split and new management team, his single “Beautiful“, future projects including working with Silly Walks Disco, charity events and more. Romain hasn’t been slacking with his music and as he said a change was needed in his career. I do hope the move works out in the long run.
