Teejay Separates Himself From Everyone On “Different Species”!

Dancehall Artist Teejay is still putting the finishing touches to his long-awaited album, “Rags To Riches“. While it previously was on 2021’s most anticipated list along with the likes of Masicka’s “438” album, looks like Teejay is letting the anticipation grow even more. In the meantime, he lets more singles take over, including his latest, “Different Species“.

With a video directed by Lagikz Visualz, Teejay separates himself from everyone here. Over the Extol Music produced beat, he calls out those who try to leech off of his blessings and success, and explicitly states that he wants nothing to do with them. The video finds him between hanging out with his real friends, and standing alone on another Planet. Teejay still gives us his signature vocals and Singjay delivery, and we can’t wait for his new project to be available.

Singer Rhiya Luna returns with new music, and this one might get a few in their feels. She has been busy working on new music in the past few months, and now she’s back on the scene in time for summer. On her new single, “More Your Type“, she says some things that she can back up with ease.

Produced by VoxGad Music, Rhiya Luna gets a lil bold when speaking to an ex lover. While they may have gone their separate ways, she notices that the new Woman is not doing what she’s supposed to do. Rhiya lets him know that she’s still his weakness, and she’ll be waiting in the wings when he needs her near. Rhiya Luna speaks for many ex girlfriends who know how to push his buttons, and they know that when the new Woman slips up, she’ll go in and get her man. Expect more music from Rhiya Luna soon!

OLDIES SUNDAY: Menudo – If You’re Not Here (By My Side) (1984)

We’re in the month of May, but the Oldies still play! May is also recognized as “Child’s Month“, and we may feature content where the children were stars. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Puerto Rican boy band Menudo with the track, “If You’re Not Here (By My Side)“.

Produced by Edgardo Díaz and Mary Lynne M. Pagan, “If You’re Not Here” was released through RCA Records in 1984. The track is the English version of the Spanish single titled “Si Tú No Estás“, which was featured on the band’s 1983 Spanish album, “A Todo Rock“. The track was a love song that was lead by then member of the band Robby Rosa a.k.a. Draco Rosa about having that special person in his life, and things would not be the same without her especially during touring. This was a track that would connect with young Women, and it became a popular one in various parts of the world (including Jamaica), and was performed during live performances despite not charting high on (#36 on the US R&B Billboard charts, #102 on the US Hot 100 Billboard charts). “If You’re Not Here” was featured on the band’s 1984 English album, “Reaching Out“.

Menudo has been considered one of the biggest Latin boy bands in history with over 20 Million records sold. The band was also the starting point for Ricky Martin, who was a member for a few years during his youth and went on to have a very successful solo career. Since the release of “If You’re Not Here”, Menudo went through various lineup changes, breakups, reunions, controversies, and the death of two former members (Ray Reyes and Anthony Galindo). Regardless of all Menudo went through, many people around the world still play their music, including “If You’re Not Here (By My Side)”.

While some may interpret that in any way they wish, newcomer onto the scene Vyouz shares that she has a need that should be dealt with expeditiously. She talks about it in her debut single, “Wet“.

Co-Produced by Rico’Keefe, Vyouz takes us into her world which is rather steamy, insatiable, and will have you losing your garments, and track of time. “Wet” can be described as “Baby making music“, and Vyouz looks to provide that and a lot more in her music career. Accompanying the single is a Visualizer which was directed by Vyouz in collaboration with Magical Studios. We expect Vyouz to make a big mark on the music scene, keep an eye out for more.

While many have been vocal about the reopening, many Artists are looking forward to reconnect with the fans, and get back on platforms that they have been away from. One Artist who is ready to get things going in upcoming Recording Artist/Actress/Choreographer Kalyra. She celebrates with the release of her new single, “One Wine“!

Produced by Dale Virgo and Elisha Ellis, “One Wine” is the energetic and feel-good combination of Kalyra, DBurnz, Shaddoh Blackz, and Brush1Chromatic. The Artists are ready to take over your speakers with this one, and we expect the track to be in regular rotation in the coming weeks. Inspired by the then impending reopening of the Entertainment Sector, a song was needed with Kalyra in mind that celebrated the reopening. The unique sounds of Elisha Eliis and Dale Virgo, along with the recruitment of Brush1, DBurnz, and Shaddoh who all brought great energy and lyrics made the collaboration an easy task. “One Wine” is expected to connect with everyone from young to old to move waistlines, and have fun throughout the year and beyond!
